I know a lot of the J12 ladies already have had baby # 2, but I'm still nervous about it. DD is so active and has a lot of trouble with bedtime. How will I ever sleep if I have a toddler and an infant? One child that needs to be chased around and one that needs to be held and fed all the time? How do you balance both?
Eh, I actually don't think it's as bad as I feared. We're 4 months in, and I feel pretty confident about getting out with the boys by myself. Actually, the first day I was alone with both boys, I made a point to go to the grocery store alone. It's something I do weekly, so there's no time like the present to figure out how to make it happen. I know my limitations/what's not a great idea, and just roll with it. Some things are easier with help (like the pool or a park), so you make sure you have good friends and family go with you who don't hesitate to step in with your child.
It's all about trial and error, and just being kind to yourself. It's an adjustment - nothing will be perfect for a long time, but if, at the end of the day, both kids are safe and fed and relatively happy, you've done good mom.
Hell yes I'm scared. I was just telling @amilyn (sorry I have zero idea what your new sn is thats what you get for changing it ) that I'm relieved it happened by accident because I dont think I could have followed through premeditated. Shiz is scary. And Emery is a damn handful and my husband is never here. He works 6, sometimes more, days a week and is often gone 6am-7:30ish.
So I'm starting her in Pre-school early 3 days a week so I can get a little break (if that even counts with a nb). Its happening, so I'm just bracing myself and hoping for the best.

Life is constantly changing even with one child. Adding another (or 2!) is easier than you think. For us, the most drastic change came when we went from no children to 1. Now we're firmly set in our child friendly routine so all we had to do was get the new babies on that same schedule. I'm not saying that it's simple but there is so much joy that it overshadows the challenges.
@sunshinelady6 I had the same fear while pregnant! Initially, they felt like strangers to me. I think it was exacerbated by the fact that they were in the NICU and we didn't get a chance to bond until they came home but once we were there, it was like we had never lived without them.
@abseptember TWINS?! OMG! That's amazing news! Congratulations! Please feel free to message me if you have any questions or want to chat. I LOVE having twins.

I am due 12-16-14 and I am still terrified. I know that I will make it work when DD arrives but I have all the fears posted. I am trying to take a Dory approach and "just keep swimming". LOL It doesn't calm my fears any that 1. my DH has been traveling a lot for work and 2. my DS is in a super mommycentric mode lately.
