15 Day No Spend Challenge Check In - 08/03/14

How is everyone doing? I still feel pretty good. There is so much I want to buy but I keep reminding myself that I don't need anything. I'm trying to use as many of the things that I already have. I'm going to try to clean out my closet today. I might actually be able to walk into my walk in closet soon. I'm so bad with clutter.

@guiltypleasures, that's a good idea. You may even find some items to sell.
I was just thinking about that. There is also a community for foster kids in the city that I could give them to.
  • We're failing miserably at this. We got pizza for dinner friday night, and I bought lunch out today. Fail.

Oh I'm sorry. At least you know what you're doing. Recognizing it is a big step. Maybe you can try again.

We're in. Mostly by necessity, not choice. It's hard because Sunday is the only day we all have together and we like to go to breakfast or lunch. We've done well this weekend though. Haven't spent or charged anything.
Maybe you can make a special breakfast or meal or plan a fun free activity like a picinic at the park or something?

We should create a system that you have to make a donation (old clothes go to goodwill) or something to make up for any unplanned expenses.
That's such a good idea. We could totally do something like that if everyone wanted to.
  • Went grocery shopping and pretty much stuck to the list. We drove an hour away to see a friend's new baby and I wanted to buy dinner on the way home SO bad but didn't. Came home and made a Cobb salad.

  • That's so good @nikkys2008. I'm glad that you're having an easy time of it. I think I could do a month but we'd run out of alcohol...
We are out of all booze. And we had a decent stash. DH and I agreed to give it up to help with our budget. It's a lot easier on me than it is on him.
FIL makes the best moonshine. We may end up relying on that in the very near future.
