Breastfeeding

Self-weaning

The boys took a week long trip to the in-laws without me and now DS2 doesn't want to nurse. He just laughs and bites me. He's all about the bottle. I never had this issue with DS1 who was super attached to the boob and nursed until 2. I know ultimately it's not a big deal but I had really hoped to nurse until 18 months with this one. Just wanted to get him through cold and flu season. I'm so sad...

Re: Self-weaning

  • Sorry it's not working out as you had hoped, but if he's "all about the bottle" and you are concerned about maternal antibodies during the next months, maybe you could pump and give bottles?  He would get the same benefits in terms of immunity.
