positive thread about husband!

I keep reading these husband rants and I wanted to brag about mine. Not to rub in but to pass good vibes in the world!

This is our first pregnancy and we didnt really know what to expect. He has been wonderful with me being tired, nauseous, feeling ugly and everything else I'm feeling. He makes sure I have my favorite guilty pleasures in the house and checks in multiple times a day that I'm drinking enough water and reached my protein goal for the day. He also can't say enough how beautiful I am, even when I have a 7month bloat belly!
Please lets say some sweet things our husbands or SO are doing!!!

  • I have plenty of "ugh, husband" stories, so I guess I'll try to balance karma here ;)

While the hubs isn't super involved in many things, he gets very concerned about the safety of the home doppler. If I use it too long / too often, he gets very worried. He's also overly concerned about my caffeine intake.

It's frustrating, because I've done the research myself, but it is sweet of him to care.

  • Some positives about my FI:

He rubs my feet when I complain.

We alternate cooking breakfast and dinner...he's trying to learn to cook more for when I'm on bedrest and maternity leave. :-)

He doesn't complain about how much space my Snoogle takes up in our queen size bed.

He tells me I'm beautiful everyday.

    I love that guy.

  • DH is amazing and I'm so lucky to have him. He has rubbed my back everytime I ask, makes me dinner and breakfast, runs errands, watches the kids when I'm tired, and just shuts up when I'm bitching! It takes two to have a great relationship and we always try to ensure we are both being equal partners! Love this post!!
  • DH does dumb things but it's always for me or to help me. He puts me far ahead of himself in everything, does chores around the house and rubs my swollen feet. All my complaints about him are because he's stressed and saying whatever or because he's being the wrong kind of helpful.

Rubs my feet, does a lot of the cooking/cleaning, talks me into going on walks way more often than I would if left on my own, puts up with my irrational meltdowns without giving me too much crap :) , and is just generally just really awesome. I have absolutely nothing to complain about over here. He's also interested in being involved/updated on what's going on--I've caught him reading my "Pregnancy Week by Week" book more than a few times, and is excited to come with me to our 12 week appointment this week even though I've warned him that it's likely going to be super boring for him and not much is going to happen.

  • I feel incredibly lucky and almost guilty at times to have a hubby like mine. He makes sure I'm getting enough water, tells me to nap when I'm tired, says the housework can wait a day, cooks dinner more now (we usually take turns), right now he is rubbing my feet just because they are close to him, asks me multiple times a day how I'm feeling (just did that too, for the 8th time today), and on my 'fat days' reminds me I'm growing a baby not getting fat... DH is just wonderful!
  • My husband is fabulous. I work two jobs, and he works (outside the home) a lot less, so he'll be the at home parent. Right now he gets up early with me every day to make me breakfast and pack my lunch. He cooks dinner, cleans the house and does laundry. Also, I've been developing this horrible pregnancy excema, and I've never had excema before, so that plus the blump, I've been feeling hideous, but he's always telling me I'm beautiful and sexy.
  • My husband surprised me the other day by buying us a king size bed and brand new mattress! (Previously had a queen)
  • DH has been cranky the past several days because his wisdom tooth was bothering him. Thankfully he got it pulled yesterday and is getting back to his usual charming self.

What I love most about my hubby is that he is a great provider and works to make sure the family's needs are met :)

  • SO takes over with cleaning, etc when he notices that I feel like crap and hasn't said a thing about the house not being the cleanest even though I'm off for summer. He was great on vacation about making sure we always stopped to get something to eat and drink and to rest when I was feeling awful because of ms. And he cooks :D.
  • My husband treats me like I am made of glass. He is one of a kind. I am so lucky :D
  • Aww yay for sweet husbands :) mine rubs my head until I fall asleep every night, gets up at 3am to get me a drink/snack, holds my hair back when ms is horrible, & always rubbing my belly/giving me compliments. :)
  • Not that DH doesn't piss me off sometimes, but overall he really is a dream come true.  SO patient, so understanding, constantly tells me I'm gorgeous when I feel like a fat, bloated blob, tells me how much he appreciates me growing our little baby and what a great mom I'm going to be.  He's really just fantastic.  And also so handsome.  I feel like I won the husband lottery.

I should remember this when I want to yell at him for leaving cereal and ice cream bowls all over the house.

    I love this thread!

DH has gotten better with each pregnancy. The first time he literally wouldn't go downstairs to get me grapes when I was craving them. The next pregnancies were way different. Last night I said I was craving a donut and he about hopped out of bed to get buy one until I told him not to (I wouldn't have wanted it by the time he got back haha). He's been on kid duty on the weekends and when he gets home because I've been so sick, and my Zofran has run out. He rubs my feet, tells me he can't wait for my big belly, etc.

Also, the other day I overheard him giving a buddy marriage advice (the guy is in a rocky spot and called for help) and the things DH said
    :x

  • My dh has been amazing. He has been really understanding and complimentary. When I feel bad because I feel like I am being lazy, he reminds me that I am pregnant and on summer vacation so I should fb relaxing. He calms my nerves when I get anxious about our finances ... He really has just been fantastic and loving.
  • My husband is awesome. So supportive, never complains and I have not made dinner since I got pregnant. I am very lucky
  • My husband is awesome and I rarely really talk about it because it comes across as bragging. He is just wonderful though. I think it has to do with being raised by his mom and two sisters, no men around. He talks about how he is feeling, how he feels about the baby, etc. Sometimes I feel little flutters (could by gas, IDK) and he gets so excited and wants so bad to feel the baby.

He has been cooking, cleaning, giving me massages, and just being awesome all the time. Honestly though, he did all of that before I was pregnant but it is just more appreciated when I was dealing with nausea. He keeps up with my appointments and always goes with me. He also fields family calls so I don't have to deal with the nosiness or people being negative about our natural birth plan. He is my advocate! I've never felt closer to him and I didn't know it was even possible to feel closer to him. He's my best friend and I feel so lucky!

Bravo for all the awesome husbands. We read so much that is negative and seems like many men are still children or just jerks.

  • I am another lucky lady with a super amazing husband. He has been very patient with my constant exhaustion. He has been cleaning the litter boxes, doing the laundry, cleaning the kitchen after dinner, and takes over cooking and other household chores if I am not feeling up to it. He often tells me, you look exhausted why don't you go take a nap for a while. Then makes sure the house is as quiet as can be so I can sleep. He comes in several times to check on me when I am resting to see if I need anything.

    I really feel blessed!

  • I am amazingly blessed. Hearing about some of my friends husbands make me sad sometimes. This is our third child and each pregnancy he has been amazing. He has gone to every appointment but one each pregnancy( he could not get off work for that one). He's always concerned with how I feel, if I'm tired, if I'm eating well. I find it amazingly attractive to have him be so concerned with his new child. :) he is also an amazing hands on dad. From diaper changes to feeding to playing with the kids. His life revolves around our kids, me and our family. I knew that when I married him but didn't fully realize how committed he was to having a family and being the best dad he is capable of being.( he unfortunately did not know his dad.) I feel so incredibly blessed to have married my best friend.
  • I came home from working a wedding show yesterday, and DH had done all the laundry and folded it too! I was so impressed! I didn't even know he knew how to do laundry!

  • I have complained about my DH in a thread or 2, but he really is awesome.  He's cooked most nights since I got pregnant because I'm just so tired and have a hard time cooking some things because of the smell.  He's also been very understanding when I plan something, then don't want it at the last minute.  He asks every day how I feel and how I slept.  We've also been working really hard on projects around the house that we've been putting off and he asks several times in different processes if I need to rest for a bit or tells me to stop if I need to.  He's bringing up our LO more on his own and I can tell he's really getting excited.  Makes me so happy!!  :x

  • A few weeks ago when I was exhausted and nauseous all the time, he got really good at keeping up with the laundry and cleaning. Now even though im feeling better, he still insists on doing everything. And now that i am feeling better, I have had to take over the laundry again! I hate the way he folds my stuff and puts it away! I just love the fact that he tries!! He has been extremely patient with my cravings that change every 20 minutes and running to the store! I just love him!!
  • I really wanted chick fil a & my boyfriend made me fish & asparagus instead & it was sooo good. Glad I let him take care of me while I was throwing up all day.
  • Love this!

I walked in from work today and after telling him last night how bad my hips have been hurting and how I'm unable to sleep well, he surprised me with a snoogle :). You know he's getting lucky real soon
    ;)
