I had to have a mole removed at the dermatologist last week. Since they were going to inject me with numbing stuff I did admit to being 7w pregnant and asked if the medicine was ok. Today I was back for my follow up and this nurse (that was probably 10 years old? Gosh they're young now) brought me into the room, looked at my chart, and said in her cute-chipper-all-excited-actually-wanted-to-know-voice "Oh! Do you know if it's a boy or a girl yet?!?!" At first I was thinking "Holy cow am I THAT bloated?!" but then I remembered it was in my chart. So I just smiled and said oh I won't know for months. I'm only 8 weeks pregnant." And she seriously had no idea that I couldn't know yet. (Obviously there are people who know for genetic reasons, but 99% of the world doesn't at this point!)
