  yes it'd be too big, but you could probably fold down newborn prefolds to make them fit. Pockets and AIOs usually start to fit around 6ish lbs. My LO came home at 5lbs 7oz and we made small GMD prefolds fit under newborn covers. NB Imagine bamboo AIO also fit, but BG and Gro-via were still too big till he put on some more weight.

  Lil joeys aio is really small. I think it starts at 5lbs. But it would still last you a while. Ds outgrew them around 9-10lbs. You can get 2-packs on amazon.

  My LO was 3.10 she left the nicu at 5.5 she wore little joeys and preemie prefolds till 12 pounds and at about 10 she could fit into newborn stuff folded way down she is petite though. I would just do prefolds and covers.

  I loved our GMD preemie prefolds and NB bummis super brite covers. He has skinny legs and didn't fit into Lil Joey's for at least a month. He was 6 pounds.

  I have newborn prefolds and covers but at the moment we can't afford to buy preemie cloth for her. The nicu said she'll grow quickly but in length rather than weight i washoping to start cloth right away but plans change i guess.

  What about flats? You can get flour sack towels from wal mart at 5/5. I have no idea if they will fit a premie or not, just thinking out loud.

  Will they let you use cloth while she is in the NICU?
  
  ETA If they will allow it, I would be willing to let you use my preemie prefolds and my smallest covers. I should have 24 prefolds and three covers if I remember right. I would have to double check tomorrow.

  @doeie04‌ thanks for the offer. I really appreciate it. I.believe though that the nicu won't allow cloth diapers right now. She's a grower and a feeder though (no lung issues as of yet) and just needs to regulate body temp before she can come home.

  I had Bummis preemie prefolds with ds since he was born at 5 lbs 14 oz and dropped to 5 lbs 8 oz before gaining weight again. The price was reasonable compared to buying disposable diapers even for a few weeks. They are now being used to boost absorbency at night, and they make excellent burp cloths so I know I got my money's worth and then some from buying them. For flats, maybe try the Gerber flats since the biggest complaint I recall seeing with those is how small they are.
