  Ok so update... Brought it up to my husband and we both like it... BUT his ex wife's son(not his) has the same name! Waahhh Wahh wahhhh

  You could go with Cole if you don't want to use Colton anymore. It is a maiden name in one of our families so it was an option for us.

  With the recent development, idk if I'd use Colton. Maybe Cody, Cameron, or Caleb? Cole is nice but I don't know about with David. There are lots of other options here:
