  • Bio oil is very good I used it and it reduces my stretch marks and fixes my uneven skin tone
  • I'm 5'3" and very short waisted, very fair skinned, and naturally medium blonde. I had stretch marks on my boobs, hips and thighs long before I ever got pregnant just from natural teenage growth spurts. Skin type, nationality, how quickly your skin adapts to the size increase (if your increase is slower it gives the skin time to stretch without tearing,) are all contributing factors to if you will have stretch marks.

They are an issue that happens from the inside, so nothing you put on the outside of your skin will really prevent them, I tried everything with my first one, stretch marks up to my belly button, and my boobs look like one big ol' stretch mark.

Now a good moisturizer is always a nice thing to have on hand while you are pregnant, because you are going to find that your skin gets itchy and dry especially during the end of the second trimester and through the third.  Shea butter, coconut butter, cocoa butter, almond oil, jojoba oil, and coconut oil are all good options to keep your skin nice, smooth, and supple.

Stretch marks do eventually fade. The ones I have are all skin colored now and slightly wrinkled. My mom on the other hand (because she is so thin) has a tummy fully of wrinkles after being huge with me and my brother. After my second child (13 years ago) I tried every type of cream I could find to reduce stretch marks...nothing worked for me. After a few years they faded from that angry pink color to skin colored. Time is the only thing I found that faded them. Or plastic surgery.

  • Embrace them, I got them last time from growing and gaining weight. At least this time they are from my body growing for babies. I'm 12 weeks and they are already starting to show up.

  • I know it's genetic but if you want to try a good moisturizer I live the L'ocitane supple skin almond oil.

  • My mother has them really bad and I though for sure I was destined to as well.

With my daughter I started using a combo of cocoa butter and vitamin E oil as soon as I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks. I used cocoa butter in the morning all over my boobs, belly & thighs/butt area. Then used cocoa butter with vitamin E oil over at night. I was pretty religious about it and did it EVERY day. Im short, 5'1", and gained 29lbs which is a lot for my small frame. My stomach stretched a ton and I gained wait in my butt & legs too. I didn't get one, not one, stretch mark!

I've already started doing the same this time around and am hoping for the same results. If I get them though it's totally worth it!

Hope that helps. Also, I just bought the cocoa butter from Wal-Mart and vitamin E oil from Trader Joe's.
  • I got them with my first and I used every product that swore that I would never see a single stretch mark. Its total crap. If you get them, you get them. If you don't, lucky you. Its not something you can really get away from if its in your genes....like a PP said "embrace them."

  • Keep skin moisturized. And after baby avoid sun bathing and tanning for awhile this can make them so much worse. My sister's sil didnt listen and her stretch marks look awful like she just had baby and her daughter is almost 2 yrs old.
