September 2014 Moms

so exhausted....

My one year old daughter has suddenly decided bedtime is the end of the world and flights it like crazy.. On top of this, she's started waking up in the middle of the night as well... Pair this with me having to pee continuously and then the severe insomnia and her getting up early on the morning I'm exhausted! Both of us end up grumpy the next day and I'm really tired of this... Thanks for letting an exhausted mama rant.. I don't know how I'm going to do this ..

Re: so exhausted....

  • I feel your pain. We had a 6mo foster son that left last week and it seemed like between him, myself and DS, someone was constantly up for food, water or to pee. I was so exhausted i was happy and guilty at the same time when FS left. I need sleep!

  • Yep..DD is 23 months old and decided being up in the middle of the night is a better time to be up than during the day. I'm so tired I'm completely exhausted.
  • Pair it with a full time job and I'm going nuts..
  • All the siblings mist be teaming up to make the Sept mommas more tired. My DD has been a jerk at bedtime and won't stay asleep. By the time I finally get to sleep, she's lifting up my eye lid asking me if I want to build a snowman.

  • I think they know they won't be the center of our attention soon.. And want to make life hell
  • Hang in there Mom. My son went through the same thing last month (17 months) and it was exhausting. His doctor said that sleep regression is normal around 12 and 18 months. Little ones realize that they are little independent people and feel the need to assert that independence. My son even went a full 36 hours without sleeping... pure hell! His doctor said to just keep his same bedtime routine no matter how much he fights and how frustrating it is and it should pass in a week or up to 3 months. Luckily it only lasted 2 weeks for us.
  • Sorry you're not getting good sleep. I can commiserate. We moved our almost 2 year old to a twin bed a couple weeks ago and he's having a rough time transitioning. Think we moved him too early. Eeks! I've accepted the fact I'm not going to sleep well for at least the next 5 or 6 months.

  • Ugh, no sleep is the worst. My dd is 3 and she has been do8ng the same thing. Randomly waking up in the middle of the night with Charlie horses anf having to pee doesn't help. Hang in there momma.
  • I feel your pain.  DD has never slept well, and doesn't sleep through the night, and she is now sick and really sleeping badly.  I can hardly imagine having a newborn on top of it all, but we'll all get through it!
  • Even as I am sitting here typing this, I'm not sure how my eyes are open. It's 7:25 here. Dd1 has been spending time with my parents and that means dd2 won't stay in their room so I have 3 year old tiny toes in my back or 26lbs of pure heater up against me all night. Some day I am really hoping I will get to sleep again but until then, we are all in the same boat whether this is your first or 18th kiddo.

Chins up and eyes open, ladies! It's nearly bedtime!!! (:|
  • Bedtime .. Lol...
  • Oh, see?!? I guess I am being hopeful and didn't even catch that.
  • My 22 month Olds sleep great through the night however momma hasn't been. I'm awake a lot. I am so uncomfortable anymore, and my.sciatic and back pain are just getting worse. Then all day I'm chasing my super active toddlers around the house and outside when we can. I feel terrible I can't do more with them but this momma is exhausted and sore 24/7
