NTTCR: Rant Friday

Here's your chance to rant about what's bothering you today, no matter how frivolous or ridiculous it might be.

I'll start: I am sick and tired of being told how I should feel about a d*mn car. 

My husband and I share a car, and he uses it 95% of the time so he picked out what he wanted. So we got a Prius. Well, I hate driving it - it's underpowered, handles like a soggy ham sandwich, and there's a big line across the back windshield so I can't see behind me very well. Plus I like simplicity, and this car is soooo fussy - you can't just put a key in the ignition like a civilized person, you have to press a stupid green button, you can't just play music, you have to plug this there and dig around for the cable here and use a Bluetooth, and aaaarrrrrggh. Plus I don't have a smartphone, so the Bluetooth stuff is totally wasted on me.

However, whenever friends who have the same vehicle hear me say I don't like it, they can't just acknowledge that I have a right to that opinion and then move on. They have to bicker with me. "Oh, I love feature XYZ, and you just have to blah blah blah...." No. I tried it, I don't like it, I don't intend to ever own this kind of vehicle again. Full stop.

I mean, really. If a friend said she tried eating mushrooms and didn't like them, I wouldn't be waggling portobellos at her and demanding she fry them up. Ugh.
Me: 38 DH: 40 TTC#1 (and likely only) since 9/13. Saw RE 5/14, SA good, AMH 2.36, FSH 7.2, estradiol 69.6 indicating good egg reserve. Using OPKs. First Letrozole cycle 6/14, a burst cyst and a BFN. Second Letrozole cycle 7/14, BFN. 

Update 11/14 - had laparoscopy 10/28, good news is that my uterus and left tube look good, and they were able to drain the cyst on my left ovary. Bad news is that right tube and ovary have endo and scar tissue, so they're pretty useless.. Best news is that we finally have some answers and a path forward. Taking 7.5 mg letrozole CD 2-6 to put that good left ovary through its paces. 

UPDATE 2/2015 - We switched to another fertility clinic, but fortunately we don't have to start all over. We're doing two cycles of Clomid plus IUI, if neither of those take, we'll do IVF in April, potentially with ICSI. (DH's SA has gone downhill, likely due to excessive exercise.) IUI#1 2/25/15....

    Oh that is annoying! I shared a car with my H for awhile.....I HATED that. Finally he bought me my own.........but i feel you. 


    PLUS you hate the car.....double sucks!! although laughing at the soggy ham sandwich comment. :)

    My only vent is "IM SOOOOOO TIRED"  gah! Damn Insomnia....

    Yeah....I can understand the car situation. Right now-- my fiance has the "cool" car, and I have the standard 160,000 mile mom car. Next time....I get the cool one! My Rant: Everyone is bitching about driving 2.5 hours to our wedding, and the cost of the hotel room. Look...if you don't want to go, then don't go. We aren't going to be offended. We did tell everyone about all the cheap hotels and am paying the big bucks to make sure our guests have great food, music, entertainment and cool wedding favors, but the cost of gas sucks so I get it. Still....stop your complaining, people!

    April 2015: IVF #2.  Microdose Lupron protocol.  16R, 15M, 12F. Transferred 2 5-day blasts 4/12 and froze 4--BFP!  M/C 5/25/15
    August 2015: IVF #3.  14R, 13M, 11F.  Froze 5 blasts for CCS testing.  3 normals.  FET planned for 10/2015.

    All the damn wildlife critters are eating everything in my garden before it's even ripe. It's been an all out war in my yard. I'm close to camping out with a gun to shoot anything that gets close. I just rigged up an electric fence with 3,000 volts. Game on.

    @CML11 you go girl!!!  Sometimes you just need a jolt to get a message across.  Just make sure you tie a ribbon warning it is electric so the humans don't get to close.

    @icwed yes, we need to make a trip to the hardware store for a sign. So far I think DH has been the only one zapped yet(he didn't think it was really working, it was). We have an on/off switch so we don't have to get fried while weeding or picking veggies. It's been war all summer long, hopefully this ends it.

    I am so ticked off by smokers on the city sidewalk when I have to walk near them with DS. I have given some withering looks at smokers who are obliviously too close. Selfish idiots!

    @URMySunshine77‌ I hate when they crowd around the outside doors of whatever building I need to go to and have to walk through their nasty cloud of smoke. So gross.

    I hate coworkers asking me if I'm pregnant yet and when I reply no they give me the side eye and say "Are you sure???" Yup, I'm pretty sure. I wouldn't announce it right away anyway if I was but hey, thanks for bringing my attention to the length of time it's taking us to get knocked up by asking every dang week.
