Random question about bad body positioning

So, I sometimes like to sit down in a chair in our house and curl up,  with my legs against my chest and my arm wrapped around my legs (think "cannon ball" position).  I usually do this when I'm freezing cold (H is blasting the AC right now) and then spread out when I warm up again.  Well, I did that today for like 3-5 seconds and it gave me horrible cramping all along my lower abdomen and lower back.  Before the cramping I could feel pressure in my lower abdomen, but nothing that was super uncomfortable.  Anyway, I immediately released from the position and the crampng continued for 10-15 seconds then stopped.

What on earth was that?  Did I cut off circulation or something?  Has that happened to anyone else?

Re: Random question about bad body positioning

  • I have no idea what that is but I've had similar happen. Sometimes when I sit down my insides squish in weird ways and I just stand up and sit down (which looks ridiculous) until my insides get themselves organized. It's on my list of things to talk about with the OB at the next appt. it's just uncomfortable for me but I've never experienced cramping with it and I don't remember this from DS.

  • This happened to me the other day when I was out gardening. I was on my knees bent over weeding. I had some stomach discomfort (extremely uncomfortable pressure but no cramping). It went away after a few minutes of standing up. It has not happened since. I really don't have an answer for you. Sorry.

  • Thanks guys!  It makes me feel better to know that I'm not a freak and that other people seem to be experiencing this as well.  :)
  • I keep having sharp pains in my lower abdomen when I stretch or cough. Maybe it is some ligaments down there or something lol FTM here so I question everything!
  • @ambernicole06‌ I had sharp pains in my lower abdomen when moving or sneezing and my ob sent me to ER. I got diagnosed with a subchorionic hemorrhage. You should call your doc immediately about sharp pains
