  I do not have BCBS of TX - - I have BCBS of IL and they refused to honor my pump because of a "grandfather" clause. My son was in NICU and medical paperwork was sent out deeming the pump a medical necessity and they still refused.

  I have BCBS TX. Here's the link they gave me to place my order. It's really easy to do. Just pick your insurance, pick your pump, and fill out your doctor info. They will do the rest. Hope that helps.

  Agreed! I have a plan with BCBS of NC and received conflicting information from them. Like you, the first person I spoke with at BCBS also told me that any pump would be covered with no limitations, which was definitely NOT the case.

  
  

  When I asked for it, they provided me with the number of the medical supply company I had to go through, and a customer service agent there was able to provide me with information about exactly what was covered under my plan. The agent I spoke with at the medical supply company was even sweet enough to send me an e-mail confirming what BCBS had agreed to cover so I had proof in case they gave me an issue about it later. I received my pump in the mail this morning and the paperwork in the package confirmed that BCBS had covered the pump 100%. 

  
  

  I would ask the next agent you speak with at BCBS for the contact information of the medical supply company they work with, and they should be able to give you a specific phone number instead of just telling you to go to a random store.   My plan is grandfathered so they didn't have to cover it but I found sending an e-mail for some medical eqip my husband needed was the easiest. Then i had their reply in writing and the name of who gave me the info.    Also, i get it sucks for it not to be covered when everyone assumes they are but that is the plan the employer choose not the insurance company.

  I have BCBS of MA, and I need the prescription from my DR (which they wont give until you deliver...so I get to send DH for this task ?! ugh!!!) and they sent me a list of approved medical supply companies to get it from. I have a $300 limit (so I plan on getting the medela double automatic pump) if it is over $300 we pay the difference.

  I have BCBS of Michigan, but in TX. I was told to get an RX from my OB, then to take that to one of the medical supply stores that was considered in network. I could choose whichever one from what they had.
