This is a weekly check in for anyone who has experienced a miscarriage, pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or loss of a child at any age. Being PgAL is tough--we can get through it together!
Happy August ladies! Any big weekend plans?

Re: 8/1 PgAL check in
No appointments for 2 weeks!
My doctor has told me several times that by 10 weeks I'm in the clear but I just can't get my hopes up yet.
I've had so many great teachers I can't really pick one. They were great because they genuinely cared about kids!

2. Any appointments, updates, etc. to share? Heard the heartbeat on doppler loud and clear on Monday. My NT scan is on 8/4...should be getting bloodwork too. Looking forward to seeing baby actually look like a baby. Then only 2 weeks until CHOP...
3. How is PgAL brain treating you this week? I've been doing okay recently. Trying to convince myself that it can't happen again. We shall see.
4. Favorite teacher: I'm gonna go with my first grade teacher. I credit her for my love of school and becoming a teacher myself.
13weeks 5days
2. Any appointments, updates, etc. to share?
Had an impromptu/unofficial ultrasound yesterday-- (my husband will be out of town for my appt. next week and I really wanted him to be there...) saw our little babe moving and squirming! Great feeling-- we also went public last night-- great to see so much support.
3. How is PgAL brain treating you this week? Doing good actually. Although with every appointment I still have the moment of sheer panic (probably why I begged our OB friend to squeeze us in for an appt yesterday.)
GTKY: Lots of schools go back this month, so IHO of that, who was your favorite teacher and why?
I had 2 awesome teachers who stand out to me. My senior year English teacher who for the first time did not spoon feed us, but made us think about literature and encouraged us to pick our books and curriculum.
My Latin teacher (4yrs of Latin) was incredible-- she taught me more about life and culture than Latin. Just a great inspiration.

Appts/updates: first u/s is a week from today!
Palb: it's been ok. I had spotting the whole time before my January m/c and haven't had one drop this time. So I should feel reassured but I can't help but worry. I don't think I'll relax and enjoy the pregnancy until we have a successful 20w u/s.
Favorite teacher: I loved my 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Clayton! She was so sweet and I just remember loving her!
1. How far along/what fruit are you?
13 weeks so a peach I believe
2. Any appointments, updates, etc. to share?
We had our NT scan on Wednesday and the fluid level at the back of the neck was higher than the doctor would have liked. He did see the nasal bone though which he said was a good sign. On pins and needles until results on Monday. On the positive side we saw baby again and it was moving like crazy.
3. How is PgAL brain treating you this week?
See above #2. I am almost out of first tri so I was feeling good until the scan. I have been having nightmares ever since then that something is really wrong.
GTKY: Lots of schools go back this month, so IHO of that, who was your favorite teacher and why?
I had several who I adored but if I had to pick it was my seventh grade geography teacher. She was a little eccentric but enthusiastic about learning.
Pregnancy #2 Natural Miscarriage at 6 weeks 03/2014 Due date 11/9/2014
Pregnancy #3 DS 02.23.2015
Pregnancy #4 Missed Miscarriage at 11 weeks 11/2018 Due date 5/22/2019
Pregnancy #5 Positive test 12/11/2019 Due Date 8/17/2020
Appts: we had our NT scan last week u/s results were normal & blood work came back yesterday normal, so makes me feel more confident on my LOs growth. I was admitted over night Wednesday for dehydration. Not a fun experience but at least I feel better now!
PGAL brain: I've been better this last week then I was before, as I approach the 2nd tri I feel like I've passed many milestones & should be on the right track. I'll probably loose that feeling as we get closer to the a/s. I have that scheduled for sept 9, it feels like such a long time to wait!!!
2. Any appointments, updates, etc. to share?
2nd appoinent in 4 days. Genetic tests done and look fabulous for my little GIRL. Although I'm slightly spoiled having u/a at my disposal at work....I've checked on young padawan last week myself and she looks fantastic. Measured spot on and moving and boppin around.
3. How is PgAL brain treating you this week?
Better for me. Almost into 2nd tri and since I've checked young padawan I'm certain things are fine. Although last Monday was my due date so that was rough. But DH brought me roses and just hugged me. It was thoughtful.
GTKY: Lots of schools go back this month, so IHO of that, who was your favorite teacher and why? Three. My high school biology teacher for just being awesome and instilling a love of biology. He called me Bad Lisa as there was a good one in our class too. I just liked to play jokes on him. We once moved his whole classroom outside and he taught 1st period out there. I also replaced the pepper in his lounge with my anesthetized fruit flies. So funny.
My high school Latin teacher (shout out @boxerrrmama85). She was so positive and treated everyone fair, even the students who were typically not good students; they really prospered in her class. No excuses, she just made us own what we did and work hard.
Lastly my surgeon in vet school. She was brilliant (in British accent "who fucking complained about my swearing?!" Shaking giant dubacky forceps at us all accusingly. Lol. Someone actually complained about that). She was inspirational, she believed in me and she was completely honest and down to earth.

No
3. How is PgAL brain treating you this week?
I have been working and traveling a lot my body hurts and I feel like I am gaining a lot of weight.
GTKY: Lots of schools go back this month, so IHO of that, who was your favorite teacher and why?
3rd grade really made learning fun!

2. Any appointments, updates, etc. to share?
Waiting on the panorama test results. Should hear something next week. Met with the MFM. No extra monitoring besides growth scans and NSTs later due to AMA. We did the NT scan. Baby was sleeping but she was able to get what she needed after pressing down to move the bean.
3. How is PgAL brain treating you this week?
I'm feeling more confident as I approach 2nd tri. The baby measured a week ahead at the NT scan. With my last, she measured a week behind. This was when is started to get nervous. I have had no issues this time around with bleeding so that makes me happy. I just worry that the test results are going to bring me back to reality.
GTKY: Lots of schools go back this month, so IHO of that, who was your favorite teacher and why?
My 6th grade teacher was awesome. She did so many things outside the norm. She was the reason why I wanted to be a teacher and am.

2. Any appointments, updates, etc. to share?
We just had the NT scan Thursday. Baby is already stubborn and wouldn't stay in a position where they could really get good measurements. But it was moving around like crazy. Next MW appointment is Tuesday. Planning on taking my Doppler to get her to help me figure out where to look.
3. How is PgAL brain treating you this week?
I feel like I am doing ok. Seeing the baby move around so much really helped a lot. Especially with it looking so much more like a baby and not just a blob. Still not completely stress free about it, but doing better. I was also talking to a girl at the bank and apparently the local community college needs pregnant women to volunteer to let the ultrasound students practice on them. I might have to take her up on that.
GTKY: Lots of schools go back this month, so IHO of that, who was your favorite teacher and why?
My 10th grade English teacher. She scared the crap out of us all the first day, but it was all a show. She had a sign that she would hang up in her room that said "Mrs. Kutz is mean, nasty, and rotten to the core" and we weren't allowed to say the "n" word (nice) in her room either. Now don't get me wrong. The kids that tried to just skate through, she was mean to, but if you actually put effort in she was awesome! I miss her!
Feb'15 November Siggy Challenge:
Quote of the week:"Now and then it's good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy."
1. How far along/what fruit are you? 13 weeks- peach?
2. Any appointments, updates, etc. to share? MFM last Friday for NT scan (good measurements) and to discuss possible CVS (see below) which we chose not to do, ER last Friday for bleeding, regular OB visit Thursday and baby looked good.
3. How is PgAL brain treating you this week? Last week (not this past one) was a bad week so I'm still trying to recover from that. I found out I have a premutation for Fragile X and 2 SCHs that landed me in the ER all night with bleeding last Friday. I saw the baby in the ER and at the OB this past Thursday so she's still okay, but it was really scary and there's still more blood in there that can come out at any time.
GTKY: Lots of schools go back this month, so IHO of that, who was your favorite teacher and why? Hmm... my favorite HS teacher was my history teacher Junior year, even though I didn't like history. She was really tough but she was very sensitive to me when we had a death in the family and I'll always remember her kindness.
