Strange Pregnancy Worries... anyone else?

I had this thought as I was climbing out of my bed for the 5th time to pee... Getting in out of bed is going to be quite interesting as I get farther along. Our bedroom is shaped like an "L" and our bed is on the bottom of the capital L shape. It is very snug there and our bed *just* fits with no room on either side. DH and I literally have to climb in and out of the bed from the bottom of it. It used to be cute having a little "bed nook" but now its just a pain in the butt! I am seriously worried about getting in and out of bed when I have a big bump! Mostly that it will take too long and I'll wet the bed... I have been considering asking DH if he would mind if we slept horizontally on our bed instead of vertically.... Think he will go for it??

My boobs leaking through my shirt and having no idea for the longest time. More of a post-pregnant fear, but still.

that is a completely valid fear, I could barely get off the couch or swing my legs over the side of the bed late in pregnancy with DS

Not sure if this is true but I heard that generally women go into labour in the evening. This is supposed to be an evolution thing from when woman went out hunting or foraging during the day. That way they would be at home and safe when they went into labour.

And most women's water does not break until way into active labor (Hollywood would make us believe otherwise). I do not remember the stat but it is low for the amount of people who's water breaks before they are at the hospital and admitted.

Mine broke while walking the floor at the hospital trying to progress labor since I had been having bad contractions (2 to 3 minutes apart) for about 15 hours at that point.

Not that I was a hollywood movie but my water broke (I did think I peed the bed. Or worse... :-s ) at 2.30 am on a tuesday morning and at 7 am I had not even felt 1 contraction. They gave me the pitocin then. Still didnt give birth till 4.15 wednesday afternoon (38 hrs after my water broke)

As for myself, even not pregnant I am terrified of driving in snow. So I am naturally terrified of going into labor during a blizzard and no one is able to get here to watch ds.

No real fears this time but last time I made my OB physically say that I had no affect on umbilical cord movement, that me leaning on things or rolling over in sleep would squish the baby and that a difficult poop wouldn't send me into labor early. All ridiculous, I knew all the answers but I still needed to hear my OB say it.

Mine also broke at home while lying in bed. I had been having light contractions. There was no mistaking this for pee! Lol. This was one of my biggest fears so I had been sleeping with a waterproof pad underneath me. No way I was going to ruin our king size bed.

Lpl @mishka29 I was super DEAD asleep and the abundance of fluid woke me. I was up with a jolt when I figured it out.. I was a couple days early and I thought for sure since it was my first and a boy he would be like 2 weeks late lol

@mandamoochie, my experience was very similar. I got up at 2 am to pee and when I got back in bed I felt a small amount of fluid. I thought I was leaking urine (and was REALLY aggravated that I had to add ANOTHER symptom to the list) but when I got up again more came out and I quickly realized it was my water breaking. No contractions or anything, they had to put me on Pitocin to start them.

@sugahcookie01, I had that same fear throughout my pregnancy with DS. That year, I was teaching 6th graders and I have no idea what would have happened if my water had broken 6 hours later!

I have no idea how I'm going to walk about the 45 stairs to my apartment in a few months- it's hard sometimes now! Maybe they'll put in an elevator....

My latest worry is puking in the car. Even driving myself has been making me car sick. I'm now driving everywhere with a ziplock baggy in my lap. Fun times!

A couple people on here have mentioned weather fears. This is definitely up there for me. February 2011, Chicago looked like this:

You literally couldn't leave your house for about 18 hours. If you needed to get to the hospital, you had to call 911 and the fire department came to collect you on a snow mobile. I don't want to be in labor and be on a flippin' snow mobile!

Edit: That photo is of Lake Shore Drive, which is a main artery for the city. It's not actually a parking lot

@Neesey - I did puke in the car. I was able to pull over in time (into a McDonald's parking lot) and threw the door open and puked out of the driver's side. It was one of the more glamorous moments in my life.

My biggest fear is not making it to the hospital in time. Or waiting too long for the epidural. Our chosen hospital is 20 min away. I really don't want to have the baby on the side of the freeway!

I guess I'm one of those rare people who had zero warning about my water breaking. I was lying in bed at 7:30 am and woke up feeling a trickle. I went to the bathroom to see if it was a bladder problem, but after I finished peeing...gush! There was a pretty constant stream after that. I only had panty liners at the house so I had to put a newborn diaper in my underwear to get to the hospital. One of my finer moments.

Turns out I wasn't dialated at all.

I'd say my biggest worry is that Jack will have bad feelings toward the baby because this pregnancy just so happens to coincide with a deployment. I'm worried he'll see "new baby = daddy has to leave" I know that's not really pregnancy related.

I puked in the car too. DH and I were parked waiting for the pouring rain to let up. Thank goodness I had a plastic bag or happened suddenly.

Traffic is also huge fear of mine. Our hospital is 45 min away almost to Atlanta. (Thank you insurance) oh and not to mention what happens if it snows again!!

My water broke at 5 am while I was in the shower. No contractions at all and thanks to me being in the shower, I wasn't even completely sure it was my water breaking. Went in to see the midwives at like 10' they hooked me up to the monitors and I was having mild contractions, but nothing much. She tested the fluid and as she was saying she would be shocked if the test came back positive, she pulled the ph strip out and it was positive. I still remember the look on her face. We went to walk around the mall for a bit to try and get contractions strong enough that I could actually feel them, no such luck. At 1pm we went to the hospital and they started pit. DD was born at 9:30 the next day.

This is pretty much it for me. I have an hour long drive to my birth center in good weather. And my husband's driving is often overly cautious. I'm going to have my baby on the freeway. I just know it.

I had a very high break with my first. The nurse didn't believe me when I called to discuss possible water breaking. I went to work and ended up going to the doctors office several hours later with wet pants from light trickling and leaked all over her table. She admitted me and induced me because I had no contractions. 36 hours later I had a c-section.

Having my water break at work. I had a plan with my first but was induced so luckily I didn't have to worry about it. Now I am worried about that this go round plus worried that my husband will be at work and at a huge house fire and not being able to get ahold of him.

Both my children I went into labor at night. With my first it was preterm labor so the hospital stopped it a few times and every time I went back into labor it was at night!

Also, I had to have my water broken both times while very far along in labor. 10cm with my first, not sure with my 2nd but it was when I was all ready in the hospital and had been progressing a lot in labor!

If you've ever been to New Orleans, you know that alot of the restaurants and shops are VERY tiny with VERY little space to move around for a normal person. With my first pregnancy, I cried to my husband on the way home because I was afraid as I got bigger I wouldn't be able to go out with friends anymore because I wouldn't be able to fit in any of our favorite restaurants, lol.
