No show baby?

This is a first for me girls! I have had 3 healthy pregnancies & 2 miscarriages at 20 weeks,
Went today for my first appt, thinking I was about 8 weeks, there was a sac, measuring about 6 weeks, but couldn't find baby? She said it may be too soon to see something, I miscarried or it's a false pregnancy. They took my levels and are rechecking in a week to see if a baby shows up? Anyone heard of this before?

Did you do betas? My re said you see everything based more off betas than dates because every baby implants and can grow a little different rates! Good luck!

Sending T&P that it's just too soon. I had that experience around 9-10 weeks with my first pregnancy but I was sure of my dates so we knew it was a blighted ovum. If you aren't sure of the dates, then there can definitely be wiggle room that makes a huge difference as to what you will see.

I am so are you for your losses. I went to get am ultrasound at six weeks (I thought I was further) they saw the yoke sac and said it messed right for six weeks but no baby and I hot very upset and scared! But it was just the equipment. So far I have a healthy pregnancy and I'm st 15 weeks. I hope that helps. Glenn sending t&p

Thanks girls, are the blighted ovum symptoms the same as pregnancy? Just crazy?

I had a blighted ovum back in November 2013 and the symptoms were the same as a regular pregnancy in my experience.. Unfortunately the only way to confirm is betas and to wait a week and check again for growth on another scan. I have my fingers crossed that your dates are just off, which is very possible ((hugs))

In most cases once a blighted ovum is confirmed you would need a d&c because your body doesn't recognize the pregnancy isn't advancing. The d&c is a relatively simple procedure and I didn't have any pain after it. Some people chose to wait it out on their own but my doctor told me there is a chance of infection which is why they recommend a d&c. Really hoping your little one is just a little behind schedule! I have heard many cases where that has happened. Keep us updated and take care of yourself. I know the waiting is terrible ((hugs))

Thank you, I've had an emergency D&C after I miscarried & delivered, so I know what it is, just hate this praying baby is just hiding and small?

Update, I went to Dr and nothing was in the sac, that was last Friday, I went in Wednesday for another ultrasound, there was a BABY! But no heartbeat detectable, I'm hopeful and excited for Wedbesdays ultrasound!

I had a blighted ovum last year and then a late bloomer this year. Turns out I ovulate late in my cycle. Currently 15 weeks today with a healthy rainbow. Good luck and hoping yours is the same as the LO I carry now.
