Rock N Play bassinet NOT sleeper

Hi ladies, I'm looking for a small bassinet type thing for my baby to sleep in that I can keep in our bedroom. While many people love the rock n play sleeper, it would make me nervous (ftm) to keep her in it while I sleep because of the extra padding and the incline. I see fisher price also makes a rock n play bassinet which is larger and lays flat with no extra padding. I can't find many reviews of this product though. Has anyone used it or heard anything (good or bad) about it? TIA!

Re: Rock N Play bassinet NOT sleeper

  • We got the bassinet instead of RnP because I didn't want our daughter to get used to the a incline. Baby is not here yet, but the bassinet is very sturdy and well built, yet it folds easily. I have no concerns about using it until we transition to her crib in the other room.

  • Thanks, ladies!
  • Just an FYI, the incline is nice for babies with reflux.

Yea I agree.  I didn't really see the point of getting a small bassinet in addition to the pack n play. Baby sleeps in the PNP in our room for a couple months til they move to the crib.  I liked the RNP as a place to just hang out or to travel with.  I put a toy bar across it too when baby got a little older.

  • We got one because I wanted DD to sleep flat as often as possible, though she sleeps in her bouncer some nights when she's particularly fussy.  She's in our bedroom until she can share a room with her older sister, and I love how portable the bassinet is.  I keep it right next to me at night but can move it out of the way easily, and we took it on vacation with no problem.

We considered using our PNP instead of buying something new, but this takes up so much less space in our bedroom- it was a great purchase for us.
