3rd Trimester

Moms of huge ones, come in

Hey ladies. Had the growth scan yesterday. I am 32w5d

For perspective, I had my daughter's growth scan at the exact same time as I had for this bean. She was 5.7 lb and went on to be a 10.9 lb baby.

This bean has consistently measured bigger at every scan. At my growth scan, the baby measured 7.1 lb. The sono tech was amazed and measured everything 17 times. The measurements were consistent within a few millimeters each time. I know that the sonos can be off, but this has been consistent since the beginning and my DD was huge. The doc thinks this one will be another 10lber, possibly an 11lber. TIme will tell, but I am ginormous and have gained very little weight.

Anyone else looking like they are going to have a huge one?

Well, my LO was 9lbs 22inches... not a 10lber but still way too big for me.  The techs never estimated his size for me but I had a feeling that he was going to be big.  All of my doctors laughed at me, saying that I had FTM jitters.  After 27 hours of labor, I had to have an emergency C/S cause LO was stuck.  I guess I shouldn't complain as LO was healthy and no where close to your possible 11lber!  I wish you a quick and healthy delivery!

  • My DD was 7 lbs even. I was in L&D last week due to complications and at 33 weeks my little guy was 5lbs 11oz. My ob says he's going to be pretty big, the nurses wanted to move my des and schedule my RCS sooner but dr just thinks he's going to be big. My DH was 10lbs 13oz and 23 in when he was born so my mil keeps telling me that my baby is going to be BIG too. I'm pretty nervous.
  • My daughter was 8.9oz. I am worried about if this little guy will be bigger. Every time I go out I hear, "are you sure it's not twins?!" So annoying. My MIL is constantly asking me if I'm bigger this time around. She had an 11-pounder (my husband) and I swear she's like secretly pleased I make bigger babies. I won't have another ultrasound unless I go overdue again and have the non-stress test, so I have no estimate to go off of. At my last non stress test they estimated my daughter to be 10+ pounds though. And like I said she was 8.9oz. So they were off!
  • If you've delivered a 10.9, you should be ok!
  • I'm 32 weeks with my first...the little guy has been measuring 3 weeks ahead every time I go in for an U/S...I get them every other week due to some complications I've had. Just had one yesterday and they measured multiple times and when I just wanted a second opinion, the other tech came in and said the same thing. "He's measuring at 35 and 3 days." My husband was a 9 lb baby, but I was only 6 lbs...so we'll see. I'm terrified that he'll be too big to deliver though. I'm an extremely tiny framed person. I look like I stole a watermelon.
  • I'm with the others, if you've delivered a 10+ pounder you should be fine.
My DS was always measuring huge (and DH and I both were very big) and he came 3 wks early and was nearly 9# .
DD is also measuring huge.  As of last u/s est weight was 7# 3oz and I still had 5.5 weeks to go...

FWIW I was 10# 4oz and am a perfectly normal sized person - 5'9" 135-140# (when not pregnant. LOL);  DS is even a little small for a 3yo... 40% height and 50% weight.
