Gagging

DD likes to chew in her hands. Only problem is she sticks her finger down her throat in the process and gags then vomits. I think she has made her throat sore. I have put the newborn mittens back on her hands. Is this just something all babies do or is my child being odd?

    Mine does :-h He also thinks it's hilarious when I rush to him and tell him not to do that (in a non scolding manor) lol, I think it's pretty normal!

    My DD does this all the time, except that she actually causes herself to "throw up" when she does it. So annoying!

    This happens to my DD at least once a day. She doesn't throw up but there's some hardcore gagging going on.

    Us too, sometimes she throws up from it but mostly it is just that horrible gagging sound.  i don't remember it from DD1 so I am hoping it is a quick moving phase!

    Mine tried to stick his whole fist in his mouth some days and gags himself and thinks it is hilarious when I run to him! I've learned to tell if he is really choking or just making himself gag. DH thinks I'm crazy bec I wait to listen to it now before running to him. Thankfully he doesn't make himself vomit...yet

    Yes totally normal. Take the mittens off the poor thing. She will be fine and this is a stage of development.

    My DS does this too. He vomits sometimes and sometimes he just gags. Just depends, but I don't worry about it. Thankfully his fingers can't get lodged or lost in his throat.

    Yup. Same. He got himself to throw up once but mostly it's just gagging.
