AW: Panorama test results & string test was wrong! LOL

I got the call from my doctor and they said that everything was good...it came back low-risk. This was the longest 2 weeks of my life...thank you all for your T's & P's!!!

Also, I had posted when I first found out that I was pregnant about the "string test". I have always sworn by that superstitious thing because EVERYONE that I have done it on has come back correct...including my 86 year old aunt that has 6 kids...it went in the exact order of all of them! So, ever since my cousin did it on me back when I was probably about 18, it said girl, boy, girl. So I really was convinced that I was having a boy. Well, with the Panorama test, they confirmed that we are having.....a GIRL!!!! I am in shock! Above all, I am relieved that the baby is healthy so far...but since this is DH's first child, I was really hoping for a boy for him. But, he teared up when I told him what we were having....he is thrilled But he also added, "how many more years can we have babies?" (because I just turned 43 and he is 45!) LOL! I told him that we can be like Tori Spelling or Jessica Simpson and start right after the 6 weeks is up for a boy! LOL

Why is a girl such a disappointment that you wished for a boy for your husband's first child? And want to try ASAP for that boy? How sad and offensive to your poor daughter, who apparently isn't enough.

Excuse me???? Did I say that my daughter is a disappointment? How dare you insinuate that. Did you not read that, above all, I am happy that the baby is healthy? I had a m/c last year, and this baby is a pure blessing to us and we are both beyond happy. It's not a secret or a shocker that most men want a boy to play sports and just male-bond with. That is all I am saying. But for you to say "how sad and offensive to my poor daughter" is just ignorant. And since you seem to not be able to comprehend what I post, as far as trying ASAP, my age may have a little to do with it, obviously. I'm no spring chicken, so I don't have the convenience of waiting years to have more children. And we would love to have more, so trying ASAP "for a boy" was just a joke. Thanks for putting a damper on my good news though...

I read exactly what you wrote, and you said you hoped for a boy for your husband. You also said "overall" you're relieved the baby is healthy, but the use of "overall" still indicates some disappointment she's a girl. That's exactly what you wrote, so stop with the over the top outrage when called out on it. It's very disappointing that a woman, especially one who's suffered a loss, would place more value on a boy over a girl. So yes, it's sad for her that you were wishing for a boy for your husband, like boys have intrinsically more value for men. He should be able to bond with her and do the exact same things with a daughter that he'd do with a son, like sports, fishing, whatever typically "boy" things he'd planned on. FWIW, I was convinced I was having a boy, but when I found out it was a healthy girl, I felt nothing but joy with zero regrets, no matter how slight.

Also, regarding your age, you stated specifically that you were going to TTC immediately for a boy, not just a child, but a boy. That's exactly what you wrote. If you meant something else (which I doubt), that's on you for not being clear.

Congrats on your healthy baby girl! I didn't get my first PP period until DS was 11 months, but if you feel like trying again at 6 weeks, go for it! I think 2u1 would be nuts, but my grandmom had 7 kids, and there were two sets of "Irish twins" within < year of each other.

I don't think OP is trying to be offensive. i think she is just very excited. Also I don't think there is anything wrong with saying next we will try for a boy. I don't think she made any comments about being sad if the next is a girl..... She really just sounds excited about her family.

You must not have read her post. It was extremely clear.

I read the post- I also know what it feels to 100% think you are having one sex and find out your are not. It can take a minute to sink in, or in my case a day or two. Doesn't mean i wasn't thrilled about my son and excited for my family.

And if they want to try again right away, that is their preogotive. Considering the ages, i can see why they would want too.

I think you are really reading into this post more then there is.

The string test has been correct for everyone in DH's family and so far for us as well.... one thing to note is that it does account for M/Cs..... one of DH's aunts had one and it accounted for it. But congrats on your healthy girl! I am team Pink as well

Congrats on your baby. Being excited for a penis or a vagina is ridic, IMO. Is this the FFFC thread? If you are excited at the gender you are getting to socialize your child with based on their genitals, do some introspection and figure out da fuck is goin on. This is not just about you, so sorry if I come across harsh, I've seen a lot of posts that are like "my hubby cried tears of joy that it's a girl/boy!" Don't like dat shiz.

@tkr7c9‌....I thought that it may have accounted for my m/c as well, but I have done it on a couple of friends that have had m/c and are done having kids, and it didn't account for them. Well, if I don't have any more after this one, then maybe it did account for it....we'll just wait and see!
