Vent - my kid just broke our stroller

I'm so, so upset right now. We had the stroller out because we had just taken it to have the tubes in the tires replaced. It's an expensive stroller (we bought it used, though) and rarely used it with my son so I was looking forward to getting some use out of it. I had purchased the stroller board attachment, infant seat attachment, and replaced the tubes for about $150 getting it ready for the new baby. I was getting dressed in the other room and my kid decided it would be a good idea to jump on it like a trampoline.

I'm so angry at him and I'm trying not to be. We were not planning on getting a new stroller but it's pretty much a necessity with our lifestyle and I'm really upset that we've spent a bunch of money and have barely used it and now we won't be able to. I know it's ultimately my fault for leaving it out, so I'm kicking myself as well.

  • That is so frustrating.  I would have trouble keeping my cool over that one.  I'm sorry.   :(
  • I would be angry too, what part broke? Is it in any way salvageable?
  • The fabric ripped. I'm going to have a friend who sews look at it and see if she can patch it somehow, and also contact the company and see if I can just get replacement fabric? No idea if that's an option or not, but I'm desperate!

  • Surprisingly the fabric parts on lots of baby stuff is replaceable, give em a call

    baby #3 arrived in September 2014...cannot get ticker to work no matter what I try!




  • Sorry you're having a tough day, I hope you can somehow find a solution and are able to use the stroller still. My son has broken a lot of expensive things right in front of me and it's never easy to deal with, so I feel your pain!
  • I'm so sorry :( like others have said, most of the companies will sell or give you replacement fabric. Good luck :(

  • A good seamstress might be able to help, too! In any event, I'm sure the manufacturer has encountered this kind of thing before. I'm so sorry. I thought I broke our new stroller when I was putting it together and nearly cried.
