STMs: Feeling huge already?

I had my first son in March of 2013 and I am due with baby #2 January 2015 so I a 15 weeks, when I look back to pictures of my first pregnancy at 20 I feel like I am already past where I was then in terms of size. So far I have gained 6 pounds.  I know, I know that you will get bigger faster with your second but I am afraid of just how much bigger I will be in the end!!! lol Thanks for listening to my vent!

Yes, I do feel a lot bigger a lot sooner. The weirdest part is that I have only gained a few lbs. Thats the part freaking me out the most is how can I have THAT big of a bump with very little weight gain!!

  • I am definitely as big now at 17 weeks as I was around 24 weeks but I weigh less than I did at this same time the last pregnancy because I am eating better and exercising more. I definitely don't feel huge though. I know to save the "I feel huge" comments for when I am in the late 3rd trimester ;)

  • I had DD in 2007, but I am starting out 20 lbs bigger than I was then. I gained 50 lbs with her! There is no way that can happen this time around. Trouble is, I had no m/s or anything with her....I felt great....so I apparently ate everything in sight! This time, I have a little m/s, so I only want carbs and "comfort foods". Hopefully I will start feeling less nauseous soon so I can start walking, because I agree with you that I look way bigger this time around!

What are you doing for exercising if you don't mind my asking? And WHEN do you find the time with your other child?!
  • YUP. I'm pretty sure I had gained more weight by this point last time (incidentally, also had my son March 2013), but I've only gained 5 pounds total, and at 17w4d, I am looking like I did at about 22w last time.... My 12 week pictures this time were on par with my 16w pics from last time. Totes ridic. I can't wait to see how big I am at the very end. Yikes!

I run and lift weights after I get home from work. My husband feeds DD dinner and bathes her while I do my thing. Either that or I get up at 5:30 and do it then before she wakes up at 6:30 and I need to get ready for work.

  • Much bigger, much faster this time around. I'm worried how big I'll get by the end.

  • I dpnt really care how big my baby belly gets but I do care how much weight I gain. I started this pg 3 lbs lighter than I did with DS, due to a 35 lb loss a few months before I became pg. I only gained 20-25 lb woth DS and I'm hoping to keep this one even less. I feel disgustingly huge - my uterua is forcing all my belly and side fat OUT . I cried about it all morning :'(

  • This is my third and I'm getting bigger a little faster than with my first or second. With my second, I also got bigger faster, but actually ended up smaller in the end than I was with my first. I started 10 pounds heavier the second time, but gained 10 pounds less, so ended up at about the same weight. I'm sure it will all work itself out in the end. Your muscles are just stretched out so they stretch easier the second time around.

  • I started this pg about 15 lbs heavier than I was before I got pg with my son...so I'm trying to keep my weight gain in check this time around to prevent gaining 45 lbs like I did last time. I do feel a little bigger sooner this time, but not by much.

  • I started this pregnancy at the same weight as with my son (born March 2012), but I lost about 8 pounds in my first tri with him bc of m/s. I'm definetly showing a lot faster this time and have gained 2 pounds where I was still below my pre-pregnancy weight with him at this point. I too am wondering if I'll end up being a lot bigger this time.

  • I feel bigger, but I haven't gain as much weight as I did by this point with DD. I've gained 6lbs so far, and with DD I was up at least 15lbs by now. So while I was in maternity pants at 16w with DD, because I haven't gained as much weight this time, I can still fit in my normal clothes with a belly band.
