I'm up to change my phone this month and I'm interested in something different. Currently I have an iPhone 5. I like Apple products, I use my iPad daily too, but is there a different phone out there worth buying? FI likes Samsung a lot and doesn't like Apple at all so he's been encouraging me to get a Galaxy. What else is there? Nokia? LG? What do you have? Why do you like it?

I have the Nokia Lumia 920 windows smart phone. Its a love hate relationship. Hate is because of the lack of apps. It still works for me because apps aren't very important to me. I do love the big screen, amazing 8.0 megapixel camera, and how customizable it is. If I was a social media fan though, I think I'd switch. Oh also awesome, ability to open and work on word or excel documents!

I have a galaxy 4. Samsungs are nice. They are different from an iphone - not better or worse just different. Go to a store and play with one

HTC one M8 here...love it. My parents and siblings all have the new Samsung Galaxy S5. I tried it out when they were visiting and it has a lot of cool features, but I still prefer my phone to theirs, #1 reason being the HTC does not have the annoying screen lag that the samsung does. Laggy screens are my biggest pet peeve. Plus, the M8 also has a ton of cool features, as well. They are both the best phones out on the market right now, so you can't really go wrong with either one.

I've never owned an iphone so I can't really compare to that.

My husband has the Samsung Galaxy 4, but I am a Apple girl. (iPhone 5). iPhone 6 should be coming out really soon!

I love my Samsung! I had a GS3 and now I'm using a Note 2. I love the big screen. The battery life is great, but LG phones have a better battery in my experience. I had a Nexus 5 that I could use for 2-3 days without charging.

HIGHJACKING THREAD...(sorrynotsorry)

I don't have a smart phone so I can't help you there. But, I am seriously considering getting one only if we can switch from the plan we have now (t-mobile) to one of those pay as you go or no contract plans for like 40/mo. So we don't pay like $150/mo for 2 data plans

Who has such a plan and what carriers do you use??? like? dislike?

We have a contract with Verizon so no help there.

I have a galaxy s4 and my husband has the note 3 which we both love. The note is bigger but comes with a built in stylus which is cool. He also has an company iPhone (4 I think) which works well except for the battery life. And sometimes he loses service but his company uses at&t.

@MaddScientist‌ My mom uses one called Cricket, and she get unlimited everything for pretty cheap.

My husband and I are thinking of switching from Verizon to T Mobile to save a little money. You can do a family plan with unlimited talk, text, and data for $80 for two lines.

FI just got the HTC One and he loves it. I have tge galaxy and love it. The only thing I miss about apple is I tunes. Google play is ok I just like I tunes better. Otherwise I like the phone better.

thats what we have now - its actually 80 for the first line and 30 for the second... and the second line only gets 1 gb data the first line gets unlimited. so not ideal

@MaddScientist‌ I saw 50 on the first line and 30 on the 2nd on t mobiles site. It said 1 gb of 4g with unlimited talk, text, and data under the Family plans. Were you in a contract?

yeah we are - H keeps needing to upgrade his phone and every time he does we renew/extend our contract. blah. I want out.

I have an iPhone 5s and love apple products. I hate that they break easily, but I've heard the same thing about the samsung phones. Try them all out at the store and go from there!

I have an iPhone 5 so no help there but my DH has the Galaxy Note 3, it's huge but awesome. By huge I mean wouldn't fit in any if my jean pockets and it took a month for me to learn how to hold it in one hand. Other than that it's practically a tiny tablet.

I have an iPhone 5s and love it. Prior to that I've tried a few HTC phones but always seemed to have issues with the screens. I have heard great things about the HTC One though and Samsung Galaxy phones!

I've never had a problem even with the kids playing on my phone. But I always use a screen protector. The glass ones are really nice.

DH has a Samsung Galaxy S4 and loves it. He does have a screen protector and an Otterbox case, but it's pretty durable. I have a Motorola Droid Mini and love that too. These are our first smartphones (we held off for a long time because of the increased cost on our monthly plan) but we're very happy with them.
