Re: *~September Sapphires Check-In~* (July 30)

  • Hi Sapphires!

AF showed up on Monday. I had a blood draw this morning so I'm anxiously awaiting a phone call with the results.  If the beta is negative, I will go on BC in prepr for another egg retrieval in early Sept.  If not, I will have to wait out another cycle which wouldn't be the worst thing since we planned to take the summer off.  I'm just hoping there is no retained tissue or anything like that keeping the beta up.

On another note, I'm excited to see new options for our September badge.  The text is a little hard to read so some sprucing up may be really nice!

QOTW:  So excited for Mondern Family to start again.  I love that show!

    Congrats to @LauraO11!

  • Wow! Congrats to @LauraO11!! H & H 9 months!

I'm doing well this week--onto our 2nd cycle of Femara/Ovidrel.  Though I was upset about the BFN this month, I was happy to be able to have a few drinks at the wedding we went to over the weekend.

    Have a great week, ladies!

QOTW: I'm looking forward to Modern Family, too.  It's one of my favorite shows! I also cannot wait for the end of Mad Men, but I think that doesn't come back until January!

Congrats @LauraO11‌! Fx for a long & uneventful 9 months!

I'm 13dpo & took a day off from testing. Tests at 11 & 12dpo were negative & accompanied by a temp drop. It went back up a little today, if that happens again tomorrow I'll test one last time before stopping prog.
The last several days have been really hard on MH & I. I've been trying to find a counselor or therapist in my area that is covered by my plan, to no avail so far. I do have a few follow up calls to make today.

    QOTW: +1 for Modern Family!

ETA: Update, I can't seem to find anyone with an IF & loss specialty. The woman I spoke with assured me that numerous members of their staff have had plenty of experience in the area though. I made an appt for Monday & I guess I'm just going to play musical therapists until I find someone I like.

Me: IR-PCOS, elevated DHEAs, low progesterone, weak ovulation  DH: low volume, low T
SHG 5/10/13: both tubes blocked; HSG 6/28 = Left tube cleared! Right blocked.
    BFP#1 7/20/13 EDD 3/30/14, m/c 8/19/13, D&E 8/21/13, Chromosomal results = normal, female
Lap & hysteroscopy scheduled for 10/31, right tube cleared, no endo found! ...Happy Halloween!
Cycle 14: Clomid (50)+ IUI = BFP! EDD 9/16/14~ Rowan Elizabeth born sleeping at 17w4d on 4/12/14 due to IC.
~There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world~
    New RE June 2014. RPL b/w - negative. SIS looking for uterine/cervical abnormalities & Asherman's 6/10/14 - ALL CLEAR!
    Cycle 16: Natural IUI = CP, Cycle 17: Femara (2.5) + IUI = BFN, Cycle 18 Femara (5) + IUI = BFFN, Cycle 19: Break
Cycle 20: Clomid (50)+ IUI = BFP EDD 6/20, transvaginal cerclage 12/19, Carson Quinn born sleeping at 16w3d on 1/6/15 due to IC

Thanks for the check-in, MyFirstRaspberry. How are you? @CallaLily30 Double boo. I'm sorry your beta isn't negative yet. @superwife425 I'm sorry about the BFN. How do you feel after the first cycle of Femara/Ovidrel? @beckynsean11 Good luck on Monday. I hope you and therapist click. Kudos for reaching out. This week's still busy with work, but we're almost to the finish line. My boss and I have been traveling to some more rural areas of Paraguay. Not exactly fun, but I really getting to see these remote areas and meet new people. Next Monday I have an appointment with the doctor to start closing out my time down here--primarily to ensure that I haven't picked up any interesting diseases. :) This is also going to be a chance for me to document anything happening with my body so that it's covered when we get back to the States. Do you guys have any suggestions for tests I should ask for? As I've mentioned before, my doctor isn't at all aggressive with fertility issues, but if I request a test she'll order it. QOTW: I was excited for True Blood, but am finding this season a little boring so far.

  • @CallaLily30 - ugh! I'm sorry the beta's still exist. I'm trying to look on the bright side and I am glad your beta's are falling. When I had retained tissue, my beta was stuck at 55. So you are already past that point.  So I am hoping you don't have any retention issues and it is just taking time... which is annoying. I hope you can enjoy the time "off" and eat some yummy foods.

@superwife425 - Good job for thoroughly enjoying the wedding last weekend. I hope the meds are treating you ok this cycle.

@beckynsean11 - I want to send you extra ((hugs)). I visited your blog today and read the beautiful post you wrote about Rowan. I am thinking of you and your angel.

@eliida - So after your time is up in Paraguay, where will you go next? Back to the US?  FX the doctor does not find any local diseases.

  • @MyFirstRaspberry - I'm so sorry you had to go through the retained tissue situation (((HUGS))).  I know my beta is lowish at 18 but I'm worried that it is still positive after AF.  It's still declining so my RE isn't concerned yet but I'm a worrying and I am.  I guess we wait until Wednesday next week for more info.  On the positive side, we are heading to the beach tonight for a long vacation and since we are still in a holding pattern, there will definitely be some cheating on my "diet."  I'm looking forward to getting away and hope the weather cooperates!

I forgot to answer your question @eliida

In general, the first fertility tests are the CD3 blood work and ultrasound. The CD3 blood work tests your hormone levels and the u/s looks at the follicles starting to form. My CD3 blood work results are in my siggy and they are all normal.

  • Thanks! I actually have horrible headaches with Femara that I never had with Clomid.

Also, traveling to Paraguay sounds amazing--even if it's for work! :)

  • Sorry for the late check-in! So DH and I put an offer in on a house and it was accepted! We are doing all of the inspections and all that jazz on Tuesday! We close September 4 assuming everything goes well. This weekend we are going up to visit my grandma for her 90th birthday party which is super fun, but family get togethers are always a little stressful. DH and I ended up doing nothing for our anniversary but it was fun because we put in our offer on the house! As for the phone interview, I had an in person interview and tomorrow I will be going in for ANOTHER interview, so hopefully I got the job. As September approaches I know I'm going to need to stay busy.

I'm currently in my 2ww which is annoying. I am pretty sure this cycle was a bust, even though we had good timing. We used preseed, which was weird. Not sure I will be using it again. Also, I've been a hot emotional mess since moving back in with my parents. I think there is something about being around my parents that makes me just revert back into my teenage self.

    Congrats @LauraO11!!

    @beckynsean11 GL finding a therapist!

@CallaLily30 so sorry to hear about your betas. Hopefully next week they will be down to zero!

@eliida no advice but GL with everything!!

@superwife425 sorry about the bfn this month.

Extra ((hugs)) to anyone who needs them! Hope you ladies all have a wonderful week!!

  • I am so sorry @LauraO11. Thinking of you. ((hugs))
  • MyFirstRaspberry Thanks for the advice. I've been pretty overwhelmed with all of it.

superwife425 Ugh headaches. Feel better. Are you allowed to take anything for them?

ashlee113085 FX for the house and the interviews! I love my parents house for a visit (it's also the house I grew up in), but I too regress a bit if I'm there too long. Hopefully you'll be able to get into your own place soon.
  • LauraO11 I am so sorry. ((hugs)) Aching for you.

  • @superwife425 - I'm sorry the meds are being mean to you. Feel better soon. Take it easy.

@ashlee113085 - Oh my! You have a lot going on! Huge congrats on the house purchase! That is really exciting. Enjoy spending time with you family. The abundance of job interviews sounds very promising. They wouldn't ask you back for additional interviews if they were not seriously considering you as the canidate.

  • Thanks ladies. @MyFirstRaspberry‌ , I have my second dose of cytotec tonight, then I go back for another u/s as there was "debris" on the u/s yesterday. My body seems to be responding well, so I'm hopeful there won't be a need for a d&c.
