Hi! I am 13 weeks today and have been on bedrest for one week due to cramping and bleeding. I was diagnosed with complete placenta previa. I have totally freaked myself out by web md'ing this. My husband and I have been trying for this pregnancy for 3 years and I am afraid I am going to lose our little one. This would be our first baby. Has anyone or is anyone going through this? I could really use some words of wisdom right now. Thank you.
Re: Nervous & Need Words of Wisdom
I'm sure being in bed rest isn't helping your worrying. People without anything worth worrying about would probably worry after laying in bed for long periods of time!
So, maybe we bump followers can think of some things you could do during bed rest to take your mind off of it?
Like: journaling to yourself or your baby. Writing a children's book. Watching your old fave tv shows and movies (on netflix), learning how to knit or crochet via YouTube (or knitting or crocheting? If you already know how).
Can anyone else come up with ideas you can do in bed (and sadly, it looks like sex can't be one if them)?
Also, on the Mayo clinic website they listed some ways to try to make coping easier, I've pasted them below:
Learn about placenta previa. Gathering information about your condition may help you feel less scared. Talk to your health care provider, do some research on your own and connect with other women who've had placenta previa.
Prepare for a C-section. Placenta previa may prevent you from delivering your baby vaginally. If you're disappointed that you may not have a vaginal birth, remind yourself that your baby's health and your health are more important than the method of delivery.
Make the best of bed rest. Fill your days by planning for your baby's arrival. Read about newborn care or purchase newborn necessities, either online or by phone. Or use the time to balance your checkbook, organize old photo albums or catch up on thank-you notes.
Take care of yourself. Surround yourself with things that comfort you, such as a good book or music you love. Give your partner, friends and loved ones concrete suggestions for ways to help, such as bringing a favorite food or simply stopping by for a visit.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. T&p's your way!

If I were on prolonged bed rest I'd probably get a language course from Rosetta Stone off eBay. One of those things I'd never take the time to do otherwise.
