Possibly SS but seeing if anyone else can relate here. Having a rough time.
I am ebf right now and my daughter is not satisfied after feeding at night. I think my supply tanks. She fusses, paws, yanks at and sometimes cries at the boobs. No matter how much I switch sides, I feel empty. I drank a ton of water today, took fenugreek and mothers milk tea and slept with her on my chest to stimulate things this afternoon, but here we are again, unsatisfied baby attached to my boobs
The frustrating part is she does get sleepy (she is always a sleepy eater, anytime of day) but I can't put her down or even sleep with her as she wakes up and remembers she is hungry when I pull her off. She is 7 weeks.
I've read kellymom and also know I should pump more to supplement with a bottle but I pumped this afternoon after a feeding, got one ounce. Pedi and I think she is taking about 3 ounces. I feel like I'll also never have a freezer stash at this point.
So, that's the story. Anyone? Bueller?
Re: Fussy Evenings & Milk Production
^just my own experience, so take it fwiw
lo started with her feeding fussiness at about 1 pm and went until 9pm with multiple feeding attempts. I will be interested to see what others say. On the verge of going back into doctor to see if they can help.
We had a tough time last week when LO went through the first wonder week leap where I felt like I couldn't keep up, but I the fact that I was still able to pump 1-2 oz after LO ate and that she was having plenty of wet diapers reassured me that she was getting plenty. We also went from an average of 4.5 hours nursing in a day to 6-7 hours.
Sorry I don't have more suggestions, but I hope it helps knowing that someone else is going through something similar!
I also thought maybe it was my supply but she is gaining and she has 5-6 wet diapers a day. That is apparently the true sign of not having a supply issue. I'm still concerned about pumping and having a stash for work... But right now I want to get through this rough patch. I know my supply is just lower in the afternoons. I've been reading up on using breast compression.
It's the most difficulty I've had bf'ing since the first few days. I had started to love nursing but lately not so much.
Ps - she started refusing the one bottle a day we were giving her.. And she refused the nipple shield and I had to wean immediately.
I also pump for the evening feedings so I know how much LO is taking. She falls asleep sometimes and i make sure to wake her up and finish the bottle.
LO also fusses at my boobs sometimes because the flow is not fast enough or she is looking for another let down. I try not to switch side so the let down will come sooner with her constant sucking. I know it hurts when she pulls back. You are doing the best you can and that makes you a great mom!
We have yet to attempt a bottle feed at all; she's 7 weeks.

Gas is our #1 issue. We're using gripe water, but I'm afraid we're using it too much. The bottle says up to 12 times per day and we're not there. Plus, I only give half a dose. She screams to much to not give anything.
What are you doing for gas?
He was having the right number of diapers and gaining weight but we found out he is on the low end of normal range. Pedi thinks I may have low supply.
I just read about doing breast compressions while LO is eating from the IBC website. I would link to it but I am mobile and don't know how. Basically you do compressions when LO is sucking but not really eating. It's supposed to help them get full so they will actually come off the boob for a little.LO just falls asleep nursing and nibbles off and on but isn't eating. As soon as I remove my boob he wakes up hungry. I tried compressions last night and it seemed to help.
Good luck!
