Estrogen dropped after trigger shot, freaking out

Hello all,

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post but I'm looking for any thoughts/success stories with a similar situation. I am in my first IVF cycle and things have been going great. I triggered last night (Day 12 of stims, Estrogen was 3858, P4 1.2, 22 follicles) with 7500 units of Pregnyl. This morning I went in for estrogen levels and HCG. My hcg was 287, which they were happy about but my estrogen dropped to 3710. My nurse said no big deal, but I know the HCG is to mature the eggs and prep them for retrieval. Has this happened to anybody else? Any success stories? My egg retrieval is tomorrow.

    I've never had my estrogen checked after trigger so no experience there but I would think such a small drop wouldn't be that much of a concern. I've had my estrogen drop a lot before but it was because I took ganarelix. Sorry I'm not much help. You may want to check on the infertility board, most of them are doing IVF.

    That is true but she hasn't ovulated yet. When you do the trigger injection your eggs will continue to mature until they do the ER. ER is perfectly timed before ovulation.

    Thanks all! I had my retrieval last friday, 14 eggs! I had my transfer yesterday, one 5AA blastocyst. The embryologist called today to let me know that they were able to freeze 10 blastocysts!! 

    Fingers crossed this one takes! Beta next Friday!!!
