If your baby sleeps or slept in the rock n play, are they still in it?

Re: RnP sleepers

  • Night only. It WOULD be for naps too, but my little stinker for some reason refuses to nap in it! :P

She has been fussy lately and had been sleeping in our bed. If she is not as fussy she will sleep in her RNP.
We are in the process of moving. I plan on trying to put her in her crib soon.
  • Night and naps

We transitioned. She seemed like she was getting too big for it despite the weight limit.

  • Night and most naps.  Some "naps" are in the crib but those naps suck aka non-existent.  (Therefore I am terrified of the crib transition.)

It's also the default hangout spot.

  • She sleeps in it every night with the occasional nap, but she usually naps in her swing. We will probably have to break the swing nap habit at some point since my mom is going to be watching her a few days a week and there is no swing at her house

  • DD sleeps in her crib at night, and can take 2-3 hour naps in the RnP during the day. It's such a lifesaver for us when chores really need to happen!
  • I said SS because Liam used to be crib at night, RNP for naps but for the last couple of weeks I've been putting him in his crib for most naps. The RNP now gets used MAYBE once a day

  • Nights. He sleeps great in it been averaging 9-6 the last few nights I can't move him because I love the sleep. Mom of the year lol
  • He used to sleep in the rnp every night but transitioned him last week to the crib since he is getting big. I do miss him next to my bed though!
  • My girls are still in it for night sleep. One of them loves it the other is getting more restless.

Moved him to the P&P around two months.  I kinda want to try moving him back, but he does this leg kicking thing in his sleep, I'm afraid he'll kick right out of it.

  • RNP. At night and for most but not all naps. I really think he's too long for it but we're traveling to a wedding in a week and I didn't want to rock the boat before then.

  • I had transitioned him from the RnP to a bassinet, but he stopped sleeping as well so we went back to the RnP
  • RNP at night, swing or crib for most naps depending on the day.

I am terrified, too! How did you 24+ who transitioned do it?

  • LO has torticollis and a flat spot on her head so we were kind of forced to move her otherwise she would still be in it. She is not sleeping well at all but I'm not sure that is from moving her. I think it's more the 4 month regression.

  • We are trying to transition to the PNP now, but I moved her back to the RNP for part of last night because no one was getting any sleep otherwise! She might be in that thing until preschool...

This is how we transitioned. It took about a week before we got a full night in the pnp. but now she sleeps great in the pnp at night. She sometimes naps in the rnp, when she will stand to be put down for nap and not require being held the whole time.

SOOooo good to hear. We'll keep hanging in there. Thanks!
  • Good poll, I have been wondering this myself and was convinced my LO was the only one still in his. We are on vacation this week and since it's much more compact than lugging the pack n play, that's been my excuse for not transitioning him. When we get home on Saturday the plan is to put him in the crib.

    Hold me. I'm terrified.

We typically bedshare after the first feeding (sidelying nursing works well for us) so I imagine I'll continue to do that.

  • RNP was amazing while it lasted. My LO is too long now and when she stretches at night she gets mad because her feet have no where to go. She got too big for it literally over night so we couldn't even transition. She is sleeping horribly in her PNP and I've ended up bed sharing for the last week. Trying the crib transition tonight. I NEED SLEEP!!!
  • I transitioned DS out of the RNP at just under 2 months old because it just looked uncomfortable and he kept kicking his legs.  I wanted him to be able to stretch out more so I moved him to the napper part of the pnp.  He slept in that until just last week and now is sleeping in the regular part of the pnp.  He is always in the pnp at night and I've been trying to get him to sleep in the crib for naps. He doesn't take very long naps in his crib so I don't know what to do there.  I've since given the rnp to my sister who just had a baby and she is loving it.

  • I used ours for naps while I was on maternity leave for 12 weeks, and we also used it as a place for LO to hang out quite a bit. But in the last few weeks, we really haven't used it much. He's always slept in a Travel Lite Crib at night (although I tried the RnP a couple times when he was super restless in the beginning) and he now naps in a crib at daycare during the week. Most of his home naps lately have been on me or DH though he's taken a couple in the big crib. I plan to try most of this weekend's naps there.

So he's all over the place. LOL.

My DD slept in her RnP at night and for naps for the first three months or so before we transitioned her to the crib.

  • We just did not have room for the crib right now so we've had her in the P&P since birth. LO is 3 months now and for the most part she's been fine with it. Sometimes she naps in her swing or on the boppy pillow but always sleeps in it at night. I someties worry if it's hard on her back since it is not a real mattress though.
