How many of your children know colors? My son seems to be only grasping the color orange right now lol

For a long time, everything was blue, whether it was actually blue or not. But then she worked up to knowing most colors over the past month. I'm sure yours will get there soon!

yeah, DS doesn't know much either- red, green, and white, basically. it's weird, because we tell him colors all the time. he is better with counting.

DS knows pretty much all of them, started slow with just blue and "lellow" but over the last few months has hem all figured out. The curious george app I mentioned in the post about iPads for toddlers has helped immensely with color recognition. And he's obsessed with crayons. Lol

DD is pretty good with her colors.

B started recognizing orange first, then blue. With other colors sometimes it still seems like she's guessing, but she's guessing from the correct set of color words (mainly pink, red, green, yellow, purple). And she's getting it right more often now.

The other day DH was telling her something was taupe. Dude, shades really? Let's get the primary colors down first please.

DD knows and correctly says the names for all of the colors, but I'm pretty sure she's guessing - she's right about half the time. We're not pushing it at all right now.

She definitely understands the difference between having one thing, having two things, and having more than two things, and has recently started asking for "1,2,3,4,5 crackers" instead of "more crackers" and the like, so we're in the same place with counting.

DD has colors down. She can correctly name them all whenever. She has no idea about counting though, lol. She can count to ten no problem, but doesn't get that the numbers mean anything beyond just something to say.

DD has her colors down and is pretty specific when asking for things, or just identifying objects by color too!

DD knows the colours, and most of the time she can identify something by it's colour, but if you ask her "Get the blue crayon" sometimes she will say "Ummmm..." and then pick and random one and will ask "Blue one?"

DD also referred to everything as one color for the longest time. Everything was PINK! at that volume and excitement level.

She knows that red and blue are colors and mixes them up. We don't do any "formal" color education, but we talk about what color things are. "Here is some milk in your purple cup," or "These are your green pajamas," and so on. We do the same with numbers... "You have one, two, three blueberries left."

DS has his colors down, too. And he actually uses them properly. He can count to 12, but he doesn't actually get the whole number thing. They do a lot of this stuff at daycare and then we work on it at home.

No colors here, everything is yellow. I don't really work on the colors with him though. He has shapes, animals/animal noises, and body parts down though.

Meh, it's hard to tell because I can't always tell what he's saying when I ask, but I guess I think he does pretty well if you ask him to grab the "color" cup or toy.
