woke up in the middle of the night...

With swollen, burning gums! This is my third pregnancy and I've never had a problem with my dental care and doubt I do now. Am I getting gum disease? It kept me up most of the night. I went and brushed my teeth and that helped a little but still now swollen and painful. The gums weren't/ aren't bleeding so that's good right? Anyone else have this?

  • I'm on my third pregnancy also and I had this happen to me for the first time a week ago. It lasted 2 days and went away. Hopefully yours is just temporary too!

  • The dentist told me I had pregnancy gingivitis with my DD. My gums went back to normal eventually. This time around isn't so bad.

  • Try flossing-sometimes that can help relieve the pressure.

  • It is very common and caused by your hormones. Go get your teeth cleaned, you should twice while pregnant. Canal your insurance company also, many give you an extra free cleaning while you're pregnant. And keep flossing! :D
