Normal Braxton Hicks or preterm labor?

So I'm currently 32 weeks and have had normal BH since about 26 weeks. But starting this week anytime I'm walking for more than a minute or so I get constant BH - one every 2 minutes or so. And of course anytime I google this preterm labor comes up but they don't get worse in intensity and they stop shortly after sitting down. Anyone else have this? Is it normal or should I call the doc? I feel like I call there so much they're probably sick of me!

I had them consistently last week and called the doctor and they sent me to L&D for monitoring, but it turned out to be nothing. Also, mine did not ease when I sat down. If they just go away, I wouldn't be concerned. But regardless, if you're worried at all, call your doc. Who cares if they're sick of you. Thats what they get paid for.

I get them too, not that close together though. My doctor has told me if you're not drinking enough water that could contribute to the problem. She's told me to just sit down and put my feet up for a bit and drink lots of water. If you feel like something is wrong definitely call your doctor. Listen to your body. Don't worry about bothering them, that's their job :)
  • My doctor told me if I get 6 in an hour, drink lots of water and lay down. If they continue call. But that if I'm really
concerned and they come out of the blue, to call. She said she's rather have false alarms then me wait and something go wrong.

So like PPs have said, call your doctor. That's what they are there for!

  • Personally, I wouldn't be concerned if they go away when you sit down.  Make sure you're drinking LOTS of water!

  • I've been having them all day long for weeks. Tonight while sitting down, after just finishing a glass of water, I had them like every minute! Ugh.
  • I just had a little episode this morning.. after having a snack, a couple glasses of water, and getting my feet up they went away.  I think maybe your body is just telling you to sit down and get your feet up, but you should always consult your doc if you are nervous.

  • You should never feel like your dr's office is "sick of you"... :|
Sounds like you need to make sure you are well hydrated. If it stops when you settle down and stop moving, could simply be irritable uterus. Again, no one can DX you but your OB.

  • I've heard if they stop when you rest, then they aren't real labor.
    This.
  • Could be false labor. Just stay hydrated and it could be that you're doing too much and need a break if they stop when you rest. More than 4 in an hour deserve a call in though.
