Re: Blood draws

  • lol isn't it amazing! DH & I went together for ours (had a little blood work & breakfast date-cause we're super romantic like that). When we got out I was a smidge light headed so he asked if I was alright. Me: "I'm fine, but they did take 6 vials and I'm smaller than you so, yaknow, it's to be expected." DH: "SIX! they only took 2 from me" Lucky husbands, always gettin off easy! no pun intended. ;)

    Me:26 DH:27
    Married Oct 2011
NTNP for about a year before actively
    TTC since April 2013
Currently testing for infertility cause and hormone imbalance.
Infertility & ovarian cyst diagnosis: May '14
B/W: 'good', more ordered to check antibodies & progesterone
    SA: Normal :)
U/Ss for cyst: who the f knows
DH's cat scan: showed encapsulated fatty growth; u/s: didn't really show much more
Breast Specialist: Most likely a large fibroid, but keeping an eye on it, repeat u/s every 6mos
HSG: clear tubes, uterus is A-ok
WHAT'S NEXT: DH's consult with surgeon to discuss next step for growth, either biopsy or surgery~Big discussion with Dr. before any possibility of starting Clomid, since I'll want another u/s before and to be monitored and he doesn't seem into that. I had to force his hand just to order the AMH test so may be looking for another OB

I have fainted multiple times during blood draws throughout my life, so I have to give blood laying down. I'm getting better at the blood draws due to all this IF stuff, but I never look at how many vials they take! I had no idea they took so much the first time. I'm happy I didn't look.

3rd cycle benched due to cysts - TI with OPK tests -  BFN

3rd mediated cycle: Clomid+Trigger+TI  (three follies left side, one on right as usual....what the hell right ovary get it together and produce some damn follicles!) 7DPO progesterone level 43 with NO suppositories YAY for a natural strong ovulation. Beta canceled started spotting 13DPO - Third time is not a CHARM! 14 day cycle WTF! Everything looks normal - RE wants to start injectables next cycle so this cycle I'm benched

Officially benched until March....but still plan on trying the baking soda douche due to my excessive and thick CM

  • The first time I had blood drawn was before my laparoscopy. I had to get tested for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Tetanus and some others (I guess to make sure I was safe for surgury?). The lab tech messed up and sent the Rubella test in for Rubiola!! I had to go back and do it over. So mad.

Today I had to go in for progesterone. I'm starting to feel like an elderly woman getting blood work all the time. lol. It seems I'm in there at least once or twice a month for one thing or another.
