Ah I'm the same! I've had some weak moments despite being typically very good and gluten free for 6 years. I had a weak moment yesterday eating a mcdonalds burger... I'm paying for it today
I have celiacs as well, diagnosed about a year ago. Definitly struggled with morning sickness and then craving flour based products like donuts or waffles.
Does anyone else keep telling you to eat saltines? Like my dad? Helllloooo dad...saltines = bad. He knows I just think sometimes he forgets. Rice crispy cereal has been a life saver for me.
I was diagnosed as allergic to wheat, rye, and barley (barley is in EVERYTHING) about 14 years ago. Every 3 or so years I get my allergies re-tested praying for different results!
So I'm not celiac (never tested and can't be tested) but I've eaten gluten free for years to avoid the allergens.
I've always found it to be difficult but with M/S and cravings it is crazy!
@vandjbell I'm pretty sure that nothing at McD's is gluten free. But, I've brought my own bun to Wendy's fir their beef burgers. Their beef burgers are gluten free as are their baked potatoes. You have to worry about cross contamination (with an allergy, bring an epi pen - I'm not familiar with the symptoms of celiac or gluten intolerance) but they've been really nice about my order.
my aunts had it for 20 years I know how hard it is from watching her go through it (and I did a college study on it). when she first had it it was unheard of and she went down to 80 pounds. luckily its not unheard of today and there are way more food and product options. she used to have to get her food shipped on dry ice from out of state. good luck to you. I know its hard but its totally manageable
I eat gluten free. I feel I am sensitive to gluten. I want to get tested for gluten sensitivity. I did an elimination diet and found when I introduced gluten back my symptoms came back. Brain fog, bloating, ibs, cramping and blood in bowel movement. It really makes me frustrated when people tell me it is all in my head. Lately I have just been telling them I really don't care what their opinion is.
Re: Any celiac mommas out there?
