Thanks for the check in, classic!

    How far along are you/fruit/EDD?
    32weeks!!! / squash! / 9/24

    How are you feeling? Symptoms?
Big. Dealing with the same stuff as before with increasing discomfort. It's okay, I've got this.

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for? Repeat growth scan is at 3:30 today. I will take any prayers and positive thoughts you can spare that she is, at the very least, still in the 50th percentile.

GTKY: Keeping with last week's book theme, what is one children's book you absolutely want to have in your nursery library?
The Giving Tree and Goodnight Moon

Speaking of library, AW moment. I was given a very special gift from Lena's godparents. They sent me their favorite books, from their own personal collections; Where the Wild Things Are and a collection of classic Winnie the Pooh books. Then, he also had written a children's book a number of years ago, but never did anything with it. He has decided to get it published to sell, and wrote the dedication page to Lena!

@RN536‌ big huge (((hugs))) Setting up the crib caused me major anxiety at first. Deep breaths, and go at the pace you need when setting it up.

@mmheartspb‌ T&P for perfect blood work. Hopefully the ms chills out!

@maryhr1‌ It is possible 10w is still a little too early to find the HB at home. Have you heard it at the doctor yet? My best suggestion is watch YouTube videos, especially to get a good feel for what it should sound like and where to look. I started using it a few weeks later than you, and had a hard time at first. H had an easier time finding it for whatever reason, so I always made him do it.
From what I remember, stay very low by the pubic bone, angle down towards it and use a slight bit of pressure.

  • Hi All, I am new to this group, I had a mmc in February and got a BFP on Saturday. Hubby is out of town so I will tell him when he comes home on Friday.

    How far along are you/fruit/EDD? 5 weeks/Appleseed/April 1, 2015

How are you feeling? Symptoms? Feeling good, no real symptoms as of yet, just insomnia, my boobs are getting large, slight cramping and major brain fog!

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for? Have my first u/s on 8/22 and will have my thyroid retested then as well. T&P for good strong HB and good blood tests - my thyroid went whacky the last time and I had miscarried before we could do anything about it so this time we are keeping a super close eye on things.

GTKY: Keeping with last week's book theme, what is one children's book you absolutely want to have in your nursery library? Have not had a chance to even think about it - this is my first, I am of AMA and I am still in shock!
  • @mmheartspb I have been hypothyroid since my early 20's (now in my early 40's) and after the mmc in Feb I was finally officially diagnosed with Hashimotos. My Endo does not seem worried about the T3 & T4 - just the TSH because they say that is the most sensitive of the tests and at least my T4 tends to stay pretty steady no matter what my TSH is doing. My OBGYN team will be monitoring the results as well so I think I am pretty well covered. I had my blood drawn the day I got my BFP and my levels are good for now and I think they will be testing every 4 wks as well. I am sure they will also be testing my thyroid antibodies since they were totally off the charts the last time around. It is so nice to know that I am not the only one with this issue.
  • Sorry I've been a bit MIA today!  My mom took me out shopping and to get a massage.  I was out a lot longer than I thought and didn't get back to my computer until now.

    How far along are you/fruit/EDD? 29 weeks/Acorn Squash/10-15

How are you feeling? Symptoms?  I am feeling as good as can be expected.  My belly hurts a bit from stretching.  Still having lots of aches and pains.  Insomnia is horrible as is my heart burn.  BUT!  I'm feeling movement all day and am relaxing a bit about that.  I still worry from time to time, but I'm learning her patterns now so it's better.  I'm also very excited about my shower in a few weeks and next week we are going to the beach!!!!  I told DH I was sad that we might not get to go and he called AAA the next day and booked us a suite overlooking the ocean for a few days. Best husband ever!

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for?  I have a routine appointment on Monday morning.  Just hoping things continue to look good!

GTKY: Keeping with last week's book theme, what is one children's book you absolutely want to have in your nursery library?  I really love Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola and DH got a super cute book that he loves called Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin.  We're both big readers and want to create an amazing library for Lilly.  :)

  • @RN536 Sorry about the headaches!  I understand about the furniture.  We got ours as a present about a month ago and I was very freaked out about it.  Pgal brain really is an evil thing that never seems to leave.  What furniture did you go with?  Goodnight Moon is a wonderful classic bedtime book.  I only have the French version, oddly, so I'll have to get it in English soon!

@mmheartspb Hopefully the MS goes away again!  I'm glad you've were feeling great before that though!  Lots of T&Ps for good results!!  Are You My Mother is a pretty adorable book.  I don't think we have it yet either!

@maryhr1 Yay for the nausea  and bloat letting up!  I'm sorry Pgal brain is getting to you this week.  I've got my FX that you find the hb soon to put your mind at ease.  Take care of yourself.  (((HUGS)))

@anymax I'm right there with you on increasing discomfort.  I hope your growth scan went well today!!  That is so super cool that Lena's godfather dedicated his book to her!  That really is very special and something I am sure she will treasure all her life.

@boxermamax2 Welcome to the Wednesday check-in!  Lots of T&Ps for a great fist u/s in a few weeks.  I have hypothyroidism so I understand dealing with that.  I get checked about once a month to make sure it's staying where it needs to.  FX for results!

Just wanted to add, I didn't realize that almost everyone in this check-in has thyroid issues.  It is nice to know that we all have eachother and can share our experiences with it.  :)

    How far along are you/fruit/EDD?
    16w/avocado/january 14th

    How are you feeling? Symptoms?
same old same old.  tired and constipated, lol.  lots of movement going on...i'm feeling it daily now, several times a day, and not always when i'm paying explicit attention or sitting still.  not sure if i mentioned it last week but i went from checking with the doppler daily to every other day, and now i've only been doing it twice a week, thanks to the movement.  it's the best feeling ever...so good for the anxiety i was having before the little thumps started up.  i still have occasional moments, but for the most part i haven't been stressing too badly the past few weeks.

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for?
checkup in two weeks at 18w, which i had to reschedule with a different provider, since i guess my OB quit?  i don't know, it was weird.  they just called and said that he was no longer at the clinic and that i needed to reschedule, no other info.  his wife still works there though.  i'm bummed, because i really liked him.  i haven't picked another OB yet...i just rescheduled with the NP so i could keep my appointment on the same day.  it's just a quick weight/vitals/FHT and possibly belly check, so a NP can do that just fine.  so i guess...T&P that i like my whatever new OB i get at least as much as my old one?  lol

GTKY: Keeping with last week's book theme, what is one children's book you absolutely want to have in your nursery library?
DS has sooooooooo many books (and my MIL...LH's mother...has threatened to spoil this baby as much as DS, which includes not "making them share" books "in case they both want them for THEIR children!"...so there will be MORE books).  i used to be a believer in "you can't have too many books" until she ruined that, lol.  200+ books she's bought him, and she's written in every single one of them for "the occasion" for which she bought it, which i think kind of makes it lose its special-ness.  my favorite books to read DS are the lorax and green eggs and ham, so i might make sure this LO gets his/her own copies of each of those.  DS has a bunch of "duck and goose" books (tad hills) that are really, really cute too, although he's outgrowing those quickly (they're very basic, great for 1-4 i think), so no problems sharing those.

@classicstar - thanks for the check-in, as usual!  i'm so jealous of your beach trip!  i grew up pretty close to the jersey shore, and then when i moved inland at 22 i was very close to lake superior in MI, so until about 3 years ago, i've always lived near some kind of big water.  i MISS it!  i guess i would be one of the minority that doesn't have thyroid problems (that i know of). my cousin does though (mama of two gorgeous girls, with a non-functioning thyroid).

@RN536 - (((hugs))) PgAL brain is a hard foe to defeat, and i'm not sure it can be fully defeated until we have our LOs safe in our arms.  how exciting that you ordered the baby's furniture though!  keep us posted on how the nursery comes together!

@mmheartspb - ooooh, pear...TB says onion for week 17.  i like pear better.  lol.  sorry to hear your MS snuck back in.  i had a few weeks respite in the early 2T with DS and then it came back intermittently then too, it kind of sucked.  T&P your bloodwork comes back clear!

@maryhr1 - i have no idea what a placenta sounds like, lol.  will it have a fast rate like FHT, or is it slower like your own pulse?  (LO has been in the upper 150s and lower 160s every time i've checked.)

@AnyMax - i hope your scan went well!  i actually have a copy of the giving tree that's mine...i bought it when i was 22.  it's on DS's shelf now, although i haven't read it to him yet.  maybe i'll read it to him tomorrow.  also, how sweet of lena's godparents!

@boxermamax2 - welcome to the check-in!  due in april...wow, time flies.  i'm just marveling at april EDDs getting BFPs when it seems like yesterday that i got mine.  T&P for a good u/s in a few weeks!

    Update on the growth scan:
Overall, she looked great. She is down to 20% from 50% but MFM was okay with it, and she still has plenty of fluid around her. He sees no need for weekly BPPs, so we are discharged from high risk again for now!
My BP is still elevated for the second week in a row though. Assuming it is still elevated next week, my OB will be sending me for more blood work.
I wish I had a picture to share, but she was transverse and at a weird angle, and didn't care how much the tech poked around!

  • @longcat07 Lots of movement is the best.  Even though it's also extremely weird and I keep thinking about Alien when my stomach moves around, I love it.  That is so weird about your OB!  You have some time to decide on a new one, but that really sucks.  Is there anyone that can recommend someone else that is good?  That's how I ended up with my new OB and she is AWESOME.  I lived in LA for one year and went to the beach often, but otherwise I've always had to go on vacation or a long weekend.  On the bright side, since we moved back to central Texas, we can drive to the beach in about 4 hours.  It's not the best beach ever, but it's something.

@Anymax Yay for being discharged from the high risk category!  I'm sorry about the blood pressure.  FX it comes back down next week.

  • @maryhr1 -  my mom writes in books too...but she gives him like two a year, lol.  my MIL seriously comes with at least six new books every time she visits, which is four or five times a year, so when you have a couple hundred books and they're all written in "from our visit in july 2012" or something like that, i think it kind of defeats the purpose.   also!  (unrelated, lol)  i meant to ask how you were doing and forgot.  you mentioned last week that you were executor of estate for someone in your family who you lost suddenly.  i hope it hasn't been too overwhelming, but i know it can be really hard.  (((more hugs)))  feel free to ignore me if i'm prying too much, because i know the "how are you doing" questions can get annoying after a while.  i guess i mostly just wanted to let you know that you're in my thoughts.
