Re: 6 week growth spurt

  • Fussiness. Lack of sleep. Increase in hunger.

I hope it passes soon because they are not fun.

  • LO's only lasted about 3-4 days. Be patient and remember that LO is more uncomfortable/tired than you are. He ate almost every other hour (BF) and didn't sleep more than 20 min at a time during the day. At night he never left my arms because he slept a bit longer that way. They will pack on the pounds in this time and you will notice that all of a sudden some clothes don't fit anymore.  By the 2 month mark our LO is almost out of all his 0-3 feetie PJs :( because he grew 3 inches.

Yep, this is a rough one... Ours lasted a few days but after that, things seemed a lot easier.  (That is until we hit the 4MW!)  Really try to follow your LOs cues and try switching your thoughts.  i.e. This is really tough on LO, he seems like he really needs me.  I kept trying to remind myself that he's only this little for so long and to enjoy all the extra cuddles he seemed to so desperately need.  All I remember was sitting on the couch nursing him and wearing him whenever I got up.  This article that another mom posted while we were going through week 6 was a good read for me.  https://nurshable.com/2012/05/27/six-week-growth-spurt   Hang in there, it'll be over before you know it.  GL!
  • I was just about to post the nurshable post. Hang in there!!!! You'll get thru it!!!
  • My little one is getting ready for the 6 week spurt and I'm not looking forward to it. But I just got done reading the nurishable post and that made me feel a lot better. I had the same doubts during her 3 week growth spurt too
  • Once it's over my baby started sleeping for longer stretches. It's rough but there's a light at the end of the tunnel. My LO now wakes up smiling and so happy. Makes me not completely hate waking up at 7am to play with him :).
