I have noticed lately that most of our dvr shows are ones my DH has picked out! I could use some ideas of a show that you like to watch! I thought it could be a fun GTKY thread too! Let me know what you like to watch!
At the moment I am liking masters of sex. I like the story line and I love the clothes! I also like some reality tv; real housewives OC and BH.
Give me some ideas for some good shows!! Thanks!

DH loves any show where people are surviving in places they shouldn't be. So, at our house, we watch a lot of Naked and Afraid and Dual Survival. I still keep up with the Kardashians more than I'd like to admit. Late at night I always get hooked on Love It Or List It or House Hunters.
Mostly, like y'all said, summer TV sucks. I'm just biding my time until football season comes. That's 90% of why I NEED cable. I can't miss a Saints game or SEC football!

@catlover790 Naked and Afraid is where they drop off two naked people, who have never met, in the middle of a rainforest or something. They have to survive 21 days. It's bizarrely addicting!

We have soo/prob too many shows lol right now on the dvr we've got: american ninja warrior, the leftovers, the lottery (dh almost put the kibosh on that cause it's all about IF, but surprisingly it doesn't bother me), witches of east end, science of stupid, showdown of the unbeatables, sytycd, dominion, & master chef. we also watch spartacus ondemand (which has now become our code word for fertile window since it's basically soft core porn lmao). My guilty pleasure stupid girly nonsense shows are kardashians and married at first sight.
Can't wait for a ton of great new shows and returning ones in the fall, like gotham, soa, scandal, got (next spring), etc.
Just to name a few

We don't have cable and havn' for at least five years now so I am always so behind the times because I only watch show on netflix, hulu, or prime. So most of my favorites I am sure have already been watched: scrubs, Psych (set near where I grew up so I love it for that), 30 Rock, Bones, White Collar, Burn Notice, How I Met Your Mother.
To throw out something random, I love the cartoon the series The Last Avatar and the follow up series The Legend of Cora. My DH loves cartoons (like he watches Pokemon, DragonBall Z, X-Men, Transformers...he is such a big kid) but he showed me this series and I thought it was amazing. Super fun to get your mind off things.
i'm such a sucker for old transformers, xmen, and batman. i used to watch the last avatar & dragon ball z with my brother a lot, but they have fallen by the wayside with all of my "grown up" shows hahaha. I was going to mention that i am prob not of much help to this thread since i tend to watch 13 yo boy shows. a marathon of futurama is one of my fav background shows for late night chores.

YES to Breaking Bad. It is hands down the best television show I have ever watched and I watch a LOT of TV. IMO it is better than The Wire or The Sopranos and I am willing to debate this point for hours.
DH and I are TV addicts. Like...it's bad. Since it's the summer we're watching a lot of Netflix. We're a couple of nerds so high on my list are sci-fi shows like Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Orphan Black (OMG Tatiana Maslany is so good!), and anything from the Whedonverse (Buffy, Angel, Firefly what have you). But we also recently binged Orange is the New Black and House of Cards both of which I cannot recommend highly enough.
If you're operating without Netflix I don't know what to tell you. It's a wasteland of reality out there right now (sorry ladies, I hate reality TV...I want to punch the people on the screen and the people who give these people money to be horrendous people). We have been watching a ton of baseball and John Stewart and Colbert Report and At Midnight.
Oh! And there's a really good new show on HBO called The Leftovers. It is also depressing as shit though so don't watch on a night when you need a pick me up.
ETA: Speaking of FF...have any of you watched The League on FX? It's hilarious. I have never played FF before but I would totally play.
Lindy&Billy & @Rcvb22 - yay!! and I'll give you a hint towards my top team..i was kinda bummed to lose seguin and peverley to you guys, but wasn't completely disappointed with ericksson & smith's performances this past season.

I am hooked on Salem and I like Two and a Half Men but I also watch a lot of reruns of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Roseanne, Everybody Loves Raymond, Big Bang Theory
Another SECer in the house--Gig 'em Aggies! I'd be up for FF in the fall!
For TV shows I love, for all of you football fans, Friday Night Lights is an unbelievably wonderful show. It's much more that football. It's really about life and hardships and family and social issues and relationships. I watched it between last December through February or so of this year. I think it is the best show I've ever seen. It also has Connie Britton in it for all of you Nashville fans.
Also, Breaking Bad, Parenthood, Revenge, Nashville, and the Bachelor/ette. Did anyone see the ATFR episode last night where Nick called out Andy? Totally trashy tv, but it's my guilty pleasure.
I watch a lot of reality shows in the summer so I've been catching up on Sister Wives, Naked and Afraid, the Kardashians, etc. I also started watching that show Married at First Sight anyone else seen that one? During the school year I usually watch Grey's and Scandal. And anything I can binge on from Netflix like House of Cards and recently House.

OMG, yes to BSG and DW @kmdecoux! We really enjoyed Penny Dreadful. It was on showtime, I'm not sure if/when it will be on netflix. I haven't watched much current tv lately. The Mr loves shows like Cops and Homicide Hunter. Ok, we both enjoy Homicide Hunter. Oh, and Face/Off on SyFy. And Masters of Sex. Lately we've been binging on The Walking Dead. The first season I was absolutely impossible to watch it with (I have the first book, I think it's comics 1-8?), but I'm better now that I've had time to cope with the differences haha. Before that we binged through 3 seasons of Supernatural. The trashiest and most embarrassing thing I've watched lately is Little Women: LA. It just seems so exploitative, but I can't turn the channel. I think I've missed the most recent episode, but I really hope Terra drops Joe.

@sewfie - I think we might be geeky TV soul mates! DH and I watch Faceoff and Walking Dead too. I was able to move past the differences between the graphic novels and the show pretty quickly and enjoy it for the gory horror fest that it is. I have a lot more trouble getting over differences between Game of Thrones and the books...but not so much that I can't watch.
@Rumbera28 I just saw that on the news this morning! I was thinking the same thing! I'm not really into football anyway, but that just made me not want to. It's so frustrating the (lack of) punishments for celebrities.

@rumbera28- Did you see last night's Ninja? I cannot BELIEVE Drew went out on the 2nd obstacle! And some of the other rookies and their saves were phenomenal! I was cheering out loud, and remembered DH went to bed early...oops.
I saw it!! I was SHOCKED. And I was also a little mad at him. He was overconfident and more concerned about 'breaking speed records' than focusing and finishing the course. Flip Rodriguez made the same mistake.
I love this show, but I think that it's overly male-centric... too much focus on upper body "grip strength" and bicep strength. If they made a truly balanced course, that emphasized balance, lower body/core strength we would see an equal amount of men and women completing the course!
Of course I fantasize that I'll get off my out of shape derriere and try to do it while watching :-)
This. I could of written this myself! I agree, I think they need to think about making it more balanced so WOMEN could complete the courses instead of making it so lopsided.
Sorry, but I totally disagree! I love that women have to compete as 100% equals. Because now that women have started finishing, it just makes them look that much more bada$$.
And I'm totally obsessed with Married at First Sight (watch it Online). Begin really conservative, I'm surprised that I actually (so far) find it really well done, and not as weird and wrong and I feel like I should find it.
