Tear duct

Do any of your babies still have problems with their tear ducts? Ever since my son was born he gets yellowish mucous in his eyes. His pedi said it was normal at his 2 month check up but he's 3 and a half months now. Should it have cleared up?

DS gets them every day. I'm always picking eye boogers.

Ugh, yes. I was able to clear DDs left eye when she was maybe 4 weeks old by rubbing it with breastmilk. I haven't had the same luck with her right eye. I massage it every day (not with BM -- but maybe I'll try that again).
She's 4 months old and I mentioned it at her 4 month checkup and the pediatrician wasn't concerned. They said they'll start talking about treatment options after a year old if it hasn't cleared up by then.

Yep, Aiden still gets that every day in his right eye. His left eye cleared up already, but man is that right one stubborn!

DS's cleared up this month. Our pediatrician said it could take up a year to clear up though so I'm sure you're fine!

My son had this with both eyes at first, but now it is just the right eye. Our pediatrician said that in about 95% of babies with blocked ducts they open on their own before their first birthday. He said we won't even discuss any kind of procedure/treatment until that time. For now he told us to massage it daily with a warm cloth.

Yup, LO gets this too. He had it in both eyes as a newborn and one cleared up but the right eye still gets them from time to time. I really need to start squirting BM in there since that's what cleared up the left eye. Our dr will also not do anything before 1 year.

Yup still everyday. Where I live they said they won't operate or do anything about it until he is 1

Yep my LO had a clogged tear duct since she was a week old. We have eye drops that were prescribed to her that we can give if it gets really bad, but have only had to use them twice so far.
