And so it begins!

We got the green light & a schedule from the pediatrician this am! Our supported sitter is starting solids...so here we go!

  • My MIL works for Gerber and she's stocking us up. I'm not ready to use it yet but I'm super excited to finally save money on food.

  • 16 weeks Friday.
  • Obviously only rice first. Mommy got a bit excited at the market!
  • I was so excited to start solids with DS.  This time, since I know Carlene is our last baby, I'm not in any hurry at all.  I'm going to enjoy being her only source of nutrition for as long as I can (which means I'll be starting at 6 months).

It is a fun time!  Have a camera ready, the first taste faces can be priceless!

  • Wow! That's really early. We started at 6 months with our first and will do the same this time around. I do start with rice cereal though....it's really easy to make your own. Check out the weelicious website for great baby food recipes.
  • @Calla123‌ thank you I plan on making it myself but was looking for a good recipe book/ website! Yes it's early but I'm ok with it. She seems like she wants more so I want her to be happy& full :)
  • I'm just putting it out there that until around six months their guts are still permeable (which is what allows them to benefit from the antibodies in breast milk) and that's why more up to date recommendations say wait until six months and sitting independently. I know not all doctors are following that, but that's another issue. Also de Greene has some great info about rice cereal on his website. When I make it I just toast some brown rice and run it through a grinder (like a clean coffee blade grinder) and cook it with I think four parts water to one part rice cereal. I actually eat it myself, too, with honey.

Exactly. And I don't want to have to spray poop again for a while. I is lazy.

I don't want to have to spray poop again either.  Is it wrong if I wait until she is potty trained to start solids?  ;)

I just LOLed do hard. Had this visual of you nursing your college age child. But why not wait til they can cook it themselves? Think of how much cleaner our houses would be if we didn't have greasy toddlers running around smearing god only knows what on the furniture?

What a great visual!  Now I'm picturing a college age kid running around and smearing food on the walls, like a toddler.

  • Lol, freshman dorm care packages with dry ice and frozen BM packed inside

Have you seen the picture floating around FB of a medela pump and store bag with a straw in it? Like a Capri-sun.
