Trouble TTC

BFP! (Partial XP from TTGP)

Details: This was my third medicated IUI (third time I'd ever ovulated). It was our first cycle with injects. We did Follistim, Ovidrel, an IUI, and endometrin. I only had one follicle and I was not feeling hopeful at all.

So, wow. My beta was scheduled for yesterday and I was irritated at the inconvenience of having to go in even though I knew I wasn't pregnant because my test was negative on Wednesday. Imagine my surprise when my nurse called me in the afternoon and told me the results were positive! I was completely shocked. As you might remember, I had already been mentally preparing to take a couple of months off before starting IVF. Of course, after I got off the phone I immediately peed on a FRER because I assumed the nurse was just fucking with me. Needless to say that second line popped up immediately!

Funny story though... I had my husband read the home test on Wednesday because I was too nervous to look. He told me it was negative, gave me a hug, and went off to work. After we got the positive results on Friday, I was giving him shit about not being able to read pregnancy tests. He was like, "no! It was negative! It looked nothing like this!" He felt compelled to dig it out of the bottom of the garbage can (yuck) and what do you know, there was a pretty obvious line on that one too. Husband fail!

My beta was 64 at 14dpiui, which might be a little low, so I'm feeling pretty cautious still. I'd appreciate any crossed fingers and happy though. My next beta is on Wednesday.

There are some additional details and pictures posted on TTGP, if you're interested (I'm trying to be sensitive so I omitted them here).

Thank you guys so much for welcoming me to this board. I know in more than one way I don't "fit" in the traditional sense, but this board has been my rock for the past 5-6 months. I love and appreciate you. I hope you all can get to the end of your IF journey soon too. <3

  • @lebradford‌ I felt compelled to read your post to my DH as tomorrow I will be taking a HPT before my beta on Monday. He said we won't have an issue the test is digital and will say yes no. We got the FRER test and confirmation test. So I said "no, we have to do the one with the lines first". I have a feeling I will have to check myself.

    June 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD4-8.  HCG shot CD14.  IUI#2 done on 6/9 and 6/10 (CD15-16) w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW .... BFN
    July 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD3-7.  Ultrasound CD12 - 4 mature follies! HCG trigger shot CD12 AM.  IUI#3 on CD13 w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW ....BFN

August 2014 - MRI done which revealed 2 fibroids: a 13x15cm fibroid as well as an 8x7cm one.  Super freak out mode over surgery plan.  OB-GYN/surgeon said surgery would most likely have to be a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery)
August 2014 - After a 2nd opinion, plan to take Lupron x 2 months to shrink fibroids then laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy.  Surgery date is set for Nov 21st!
November 2014 - Robotic myomectomy done (2 large fibroids removed, mild endo found).  Benched x 3 months

  • CONGRATULATIONS! I have been away from the boards for a while and was so happy to see this when I looked this morning! Fingers crossed for a good beta on wednesday, keep us posted!

Trying to have baby #1 since April 2013

DH SA March,May 2014 - Low motility and shape issues. On vitamins per RE to help

Me testing April 3, 2014 - FSH and LH good, HSG showed blocked right tube

April 29, 2014 - First RE appt., right tube needs to be removed and possibly left also if

it's bad too. RE suggests going straight to IVF

June 4, 2014 - LAP/HSC and unexpected endo. removed but tubes got to stay!

June 13, 2014 - Post-Op appointment. We decide where to go next since main issue

is MFI influenced. Trying naturally until decision... Repeat SA  in September. Aiming for IUI #1 November 2014.
