What were your symptoms of thrush?

I have nipple pain while nursing. Itchy at times. What were your symptoms? What did you do?

  • the trademark symptom of thrush is shooting pains in your breast. your LO may or may not have white patches in his/her mouth.

you can try some at-home remedies first, like a vinegar wash on your nipples (or a bath with a cupful of vinegar), eating lots of probiotic/fermented foods, taking a spoonful of apple cider vinegar each day, taking a probiotic supplement, avoiding sugar and refined carbohydrates. you can also use over-the-counter antifungal cream (miconazole), or coconut oil, which supposedly has antifungal properties, on your nipples.

if symptoms continue, i'd see your care provider for a prescription for an oral antifungal medication.
  • Hi, thrush symptoms are usually stabbing pain as soon as you latch and you can see white spots in the bay's mouth, don't wipe them i did and was worst, making my son pain worst and he didn't want to feed.
Don't drink sugary drinks and you can try Silverette i used them for mastitis but my friend used it for thrush and said it cleared in 24 hours! good luck!
