Bethany Beach, Delaware

Has anyone been in vacation in or around Bethany Beach, Delaware? Any recommendations of attractions for kids, restaurants, etc?
We are going there on vacation next week with DH's cousin, who lives in Philadelphia? The only Atlantic beaches I've ever been to are in Miami so this will be a first for us.
I'm looking forward to spending time with DH and DD, seeing her play in the sand and the ocean, playing with cousins she doesn't see very often and relaxing and de-stressing before starting IVF #2.

My B and SIL were just talking about going there! I'll see if they have any tips. I'm so glad you get a little vacation before getting back into another Ivf.

Rehobeth isn't too far from Bethany and they have a boardwalk with rides and games and good food. Thrasher fries with vinegar are a must. If you like caramel popcorn there is either Fisher's or Dollie's. Oh and if you like donuts see if you can find the Fractured Prune, yummy! There are also lots of good stores to shop. Ocean City, MD isn't too far either for a day trip or even a night trip to the boardwalk there. Have fun and as you can see the food is what stands out in my mind.

Bethany is a great area to Vacation in. I have a place down there for vacations. It’s much less crowded than the ocean city beach, though if you want to go to the carnival or go to the junky shops you will have to go to Ocean city boardwalk. Frontier town is a lot of fun and about an hour drive from Bethany. Site has coupons. There is a Jolly Roggers not too far and their website has coupons. Phillips all you can eat seafood is yummy to eat at and they are everywhere! Most parking at the Bethany beach area is meters so make sure you have change ( not sure if all meter there take cards yet). There is also a pirate ship expedition you can do but I forget the name, just google it. Things are a bit pricey, so I would suggest buying snacks and stuff to take with you!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

There are outlets in Rehobeth too...TONS of them! Bethany is a little less crazy, so you can get in the car and go visit the attractions and then come back to the calm of Bethany. Have fun!!

We don't go as much as I would like but my fam has a house in South Bethany. We honestly like to just take the kids to the beach, go to the boardwalk - both Bethany, Rehoboth and Ocean City (not that my kids are old enough to do anything), Dogfish the restaurant (good food and kid friendly) the actually brewery is there if you all just want something to do, the outlets are in Rehoboth which is close by. There is also a water park in Rehoboth if your kids are older. We would also go to the police station in ocean city because there is a fun playground outside that we would bike to. Other then that there are tons of put put golf etc.
