Taking a bottle...

I go back to work in 17 days.

P will NOT take a bottle! Help me!! I've tried having the nanny give it when she wasn't really very hungry, my mom and SIL both tried when she was starving. I've tried nursing her enough to take the edge off then sneaking in the bottle. She has never accepted a paci either, and just gets angry and screams at the bottle.

What can I do?!?! I'm already sooo stressed about going back to work. Any tips?

Fwiw I'm currently trying with an avent bottle (the kind E loved) and my friend is bringing a dr. browns to try this week.

Ugh. That's so hard. DS didn't take one but I am a SAHM. I would just keep trying different brands of bottles from different people. (((Hugs)))

We had the same thing happen with G right before I went back to work. I just kept having DH and other family members try and went through a few different bottles (ended up with the Playtex natural brown nipples working for us) and he eventually took them. And he never had an issue at daycare. It seems like they adjust pretty quickly. Good luck and big hugs!

This is one of my worries. The ped told me to start having DH give J a bottle at night at his last feeding (since he'll be less "feisty"

) and leave the room while he does it. I usually pump while he's eating. Agree with pps to try different bottles until you find the right one. J loves Tommy Tippee bottles.

I'm far from a pro but do you completely leave the room when someone is trying a bottle? And I agree about the type of bottle. We had luck with the Dr. Brown bottles but ended up using Ventaire Wide after some relux problems.

I agree with the bottle change or nipples. J wont take one if she isnt hungry. Also sometimes MH has to work with the nipple a little to get her to latch on properly. Im sure you already do this though. I start back to work next week. Yuck!

sorry P won't take a bottle. When Hannah wouldn't take a bottle anymore I used the Avent 5 month sippy cup, she took that. Maybe as a transition to a bottle?

Amelia never took a bottle! At @Robeano‌ 's suggestion, we started using the Avent 4+month sippy, no problem with it starting at 3 months.

Sorry this is happening. No advice as my LO took the Tommee Tippee really well so we did not have an issue. Maybe try one?

My DS had a lot of problems taking a bottle and he's still not great but manageable. A couple tips from the LC I talked to (which you may have already tried): Make sure the milk is warm enough, try different nipples but not too often since that might cause more confusion (we ended up settling on Tommee Tippee and stuck with those), mix in a little formula with the breast milk because sometimes the baby doesn't like pure breast milk not from the breast.

I remember on my bm board talking a lot about the success they had with the momma bottle. I don't know who makes it but I know Madela has a bottle out as well that is geared towards breastfed babies. I think its called the calma bottle. Good luck! Boo for going back to work.

Yeah had some success with a soft transitional sippy by nuk but not until 6-7 months.

Aye that is tough! I would just try a bunch of different brands till you find a nipple your lo likes. My first loved playtext bottles and this one has been using them for about 6 weeks now. We switched the nipple to a medium two weeks ago and little did I know he hated it until I tried feeding him this weekend after his doc apt saying hes loosing weight. He wont take the small playtex nipple anymore and medium he throws up way too much. So now I am utrying a doctor brown bottle since last night. I tried Tommie tippie & advent as well and he gags on both. Definitely do it when she is hungry so she will be more willing to take it.
