Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Transitioning tonight...long night

We are starting to transition our DD in her crib in her room tonight. She has been sleeping in the PNP in our room. It's going to be such a long night, I just know it. She hasn't been sleeping very good the past few nights where she usually STTN for the most part. She has been cranky all day long. She doesn't want to take naps. I just don't know what to do anymore.

Any suggestions?

  • Are you in a hurry to get her out of your room?  I wouldn't push it personally 3 months is still pretty young.  If she's going to be up a lot, why not have her closer?

  • Just keep working at it!! I know that is so hard when you are in the thick of it, but consistency is best. Don't give up! That is my best advice. I found that if I started putting him back in bed with me (we were co-sleeping for the first 8 weeks) he would regress with the crib.  Just stay consistent, take a nap tomorrow and she will eventually get the hang of it.

Also, during the day, try and do some playtime in the crib, so she gets used to it and knows it's not a bad place. We have a mirror and a mobile in our crib and when I was transitioning him, I would put him in there for 5 or 10 minutes during the day.  HTH!

  • No, no hurry. I know she's getting close to the weight limit on the bassinet on the pnp for one and I just think she'd be more comfortable in her crib. She's not far from 4 months and we were going to do the transition at 4 months, but decided it's a new year and a good time to start.
