Pregnant after IF

Embryo Storage Fees - FSA Reimbursable? Other Pregnancy Reimbursable Costs?

Hello ladies,

Does anyone know if embryo storage fees are FSA reimbursable?  I put away $2500 for IVF expenses and luckily I'm pregnant from a FET (no cost to us).  The money is use it or lose it.  I guess I could get a really nice breast pump.:)  Any suggestions on which expenses related to preganancy/childbirth are eligible would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Three ectopic preganacies in left tube in 1999, 2003 and 2004. HSG in 2010 concluded left tube blockage. IUI with femara in 2012 BFN. IVF #1 June 2013, 20 retreived, 14 mature, 12 fertilized via ICSI, one transferred, four frozen, BFN.  FET in September 2013 - BFN:( FET #2 April 2014 - BFP!!!!

  • For FSA eligible expenses, definitely check with your health insurance on what is considered reimbursable. As for the breast pump, under the Affordable Care Act, insurance providers are now required to pay for a pump.  It's up to them to decide on what type/model of pumps are covered, so there might be some out of pocket costs for higher end pumps.  My insurance company sent me a list of covered pumps, the ones that were extra weren't that much more, maybe $50 out of pocket.

  • Check with your insurance company, but i believe sperm and embryo storage wasn't allowed on mine..though, I did submit the 100.00 for sperm and managed to get approved anyway

  • @thosethreewords Thank you! Yes, I am feeling so much better. Eating more, walking and doing yoga.  In the 1st Tri I couldn't do any of that!  I'm so happy to see so many IF buddies over here. I'll look at the 3rd Tri check-in to track your progress.  Good luck with your delivery!
