I returned to work this week and had to go 9-10 hours between pumps. I work 12 hour shifts on a busy unit and was unable to pump until a lull in the action, which unfortunately, usually occurred around 3am.
This morning, I woke up with a splotchy reddened area on the left breast and pain. I massaged the area and did not feel any knot. In the past hour, I've started to feel some lethargy, achiness, and a bit of nausea (not preg I promise!) I took 2 Tylenol a couple hours ago so I don't know if that might be masking a fever.
My question is, have you ever had nausea accompany a bout of mastitis? I will call my OB tomorrow morning, but I'm currently going to the airport right now to fly out of state for a job interview. Great timing!
Any thoughts on your own experience would be greatly appreciated!
