Secretly pregnant!

Hi ladies,

I'm secretly PG!  I haven't told DH yet!  Based on the OPK, I believe I am 4 weeks 6 days pg due 3/30 or 4/1- but I'm betting April since I was late with DS.    I'm SO excited for DS to have a sibling.  I want to tell DH-but our 11 year anniversary is this weekend- so I thought I could hold off one week?  Am I crazy?  It's so weird to feel secretly PG!  Also, my Mom is in town helping with our 20 month old for a week- so it's hard keeping it from her too...last time I told her at 10 weeks, this time I might sooner.


We've been trying for 3 months.  We wanted to wait until our only son was at least 18 months (for spacing and for my health- I had a rough delivery and they said to wait over a year to become PG again.)  So we did a lot of BDing this month (6 days in a row) after I got the positive OPK.  I wasn't feeling too positive for some reason...but then the days kept passing and I was having a few strange mild symptoms.  A little tired, a little bloated, a tiny bit nauseous- but I thought I was imagining it (I have irregular cycles).  Finally on Saturday night, 17 days post-ovulation- I ran to CVS to buy a few tests, and lo and behold- PG! 


Finally, as a second time mom I'm wondering, do I need to schedule a Dr. appt asap?  (I know what to do this early - pre-natals etc)  Or wondering if they want to see me more at week 7 or 8?  I will probably call today-

    I think every dr is different.  I switched between my last pregnancy and this one.  My last didn't need to see me until 8 weeks but this one asked that I come in for "confirmation of pregnancy" 2 weeks after the positive test.  I find that kind of annoying but I am also past due for my annual so I guess we'll kill two birds with one stone!  Anyway, after that, the first prenatal appointment is at 8 wks.

    Good luck keeping your secret.  I don't think I could do that!  Maybe you could give him an early anniversary gift?

    Congrats! I couldn't keep a secret from the hubs. I'm far too excited about it. I couldn't even wait for him to come home from work to tell him so if you can hold off then all the power to you. Although you might want to be sure that he won't be mad that you kept it a secret for a week. My doctor's office does a confirmation appointment - I think it's some insurance thing - after you get a positive HPT then an ultrasound around week 8-9 and the first prenatal appointment right after. This is also my second.

    Congrats. I would call and just get it scheduled. I dont go in until eight weeks.

    If you can keep it a secret that long, do it!  It would be sweet, but I wouldn't have the willpower!

    I totally would not have the will power to keep that from my husband! If you can do it I think it would be amazing!

    Welcome and congratulations! I think it would be really sweet to tell YH on your anniversary! I couldn't hold it in that long, but more power to you if you can!

    I called my doctor last week after getting a positive HPT and they scheduled the first ultrasound for week 9 (based on LMP).

    Congrats! There is no way I couldn't tell my hubby haha if roles were switched I would like to know right away. You're strong!

    Congratulations! I would call your doctor today, and they will schedule you when they see fit.

    I honestly think you should tell your DH now. I don't think it's really fair to make him wait. Just tell him it's an early anniversary present.
