Is anyone having trouble with acne. I use to get it around the time of my menstrual cycle and since I've been pregnant I have had it consistently. Any ideas to treat it? I've tried all different kinds of face washes
Unfortunately, yes. Ugh. I use Mario Badescu Drying Lotion as a spot treatment. I've heard good things about the Clarisonic, I'm thinking of splurging on one.
I TOTALLY had the worst acne of my life with my DS. No morning sickness tho.
This pregnancy, no acne but I do have morning sickness. Ill take the acne thanks lol
I'll switch you!!!

My skin has been really bad since being pregnant. I was using st ives apricot scrub that worked when I wasnt pregnant but was told to quit using it because of the salicylic acid. Im still looking for something without it that works as good.. no luck yet!!
Yeah I am getting those cystic pimples that I usually get a couple times a year. Now I have two and they are so painful. Nothing I put on them is working; they just have to run their course. I'm so embarrassed bc it looks like I have huge growths on my face (
I had pimple-like bumps all over my chest and back, but they were not actually pimples. They were pretty annoying, crusty and bumpy. However, they have cleared up along with my morning sickness symptoms, starting about week 10.5-11. Nothing helped get rid of them until they just went away on their own.
Thank you for this thread. I was just thinking about asking the same thing this morning. Thank you hormones. I have not been using anything except soap and water because I am afraid to put anything on my skin. Are there any products any of you use and swear by?
Yes, definitely fighting the embarrassing acne with you guys. And I second the strange location part too @mahalo3. I didn't even know you could get acne in some of these places... I definitely didn't have this with my first pregnancy.
I have had acne my entire life and used proactive to keep it at bay until I found out about pregnancy and switched up routine. Fortunately, I haven't had crazy breakouts since I stopped using it. With the acne I do have, I am using the sulfur mask that comes with the proactive system as a spot treatment. Some other safe and easy remedies are witch hazel as an astringent, an aspirin pill crushed and mixed with water into a paste as a spot treatment, a dab of baking soda toothpaste as a spot treatment.
With my other two pregnancies my acne was horrible first tri but by 14 weeks or so it cleared and I had the best skin of my life. I hope the same happens for you all soon!
I had it bad with my first. The only thing that seemed to help a bit was the original clear Neutrogena bar. My OB also gave me an Rx but I didn't feel comfortable using it long term.
I have Belli products but im not sure how effective they are. I think they help prevent some breakouts for me. Not great at clearing up any existing acne.
I also still use the proactive mask as a spot treatment.
Oh yes. It’s not cute. I use witch hazel on a
cotton round as an astringent before my moisturizer - very cheap remedy,
safe for pregnancy, and it works ok for me to clear them up more quickly.
I've been having issues with this and I finally got sick of it so I went to Sephora yesterday and they recommended Boscia products. I bought a started kit with face wash, toner, acne treatment gel, moisturizer and blotting tissues in it. There was nothing on the label that was on my list of chemicals to avoid during pregnancy and they contain willow bark extract which, when I googled it turns out to contain naturally occurring salicylic acid and apparently the naturally occurring kind is safe for pregnancy. Anyways, it's working GREAT!! My current zits are drying up before my eyes and my skin is actually clearing. It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin either. It is pricier than what I'd normally spend on facial products but actually finding something that works and is safe for pregnancy has been so hard for me that it's worth it. Once I've used up my starter kit I'll probably just buy the wash and treatment and maybe the toner I figure I'll save a little money if I can get by without all four products.
Oh my god! I am so happy I'm not the one that looks like I am growing weird things. It's ridiculous i look worse then a teenager. grr! Hopefully this will clear up soon. Any solutions that work would be epic.
I'm am esthetician and I have been getting some serious cystic breakouts on my chin. I work on pregnant women all the time. My regime is as follows: washing with herbalist from LUSH am/pm.. It has some grit to it exfoliation is good for breaking out.. Next I put grease lightening from LUSH its a tea tree serum and tea tree is great for clearing the cystic kind.. Next enzymon moisturizer for the day and night.. It has fruit enzymes which gently exfoliate.. At night I spot treat with the cosmetic warrior mask and its great clears them up in one day! It has garlic in it which as an antiseptic... I've been doing research and LUSH seems to be the most affordable with the most ingredients that are effective and pregnancy approved! Feel free to ask me and specific skin questions!
Ps- the massage bars they have with straight up cocoa butter I've been using on areas that might get stretch marks and its working great- the bar is awesome for stimulating circulation and it doesn't waste product because its in a solid form.. Lasts longer.. Also all these scents are pregnancy approved.. I'm super sensitive and these seems to give off less smell!

@CrazyCornball I had no idea stretch marks were hereditary! That's good news...my mom has none on her belly, just her hips and I've already got them there, so nothing I can do about that. But that's great to know.
@CrazyCornball actually it doesn't matter if you inherit stretch marks or not, anyone can get them its from the skin stretching, that's why keeping those areas hydrated with something like cocoa butter help prevent the severity or even apperance of the mark.. Just trying to help!
This may sound weird, but I use organic apple cider vinegar mixed with a little bit of water to get rid of the bad acne. So far it has worked...as long as you can get past the acidic smell.
I'm suffering from breakouts too, just too afraid to use anything. But I caved in, and I'm currently using Cetaphils cleanser. It's non-comedogenic and helps to not clog the pores. It's been useful so far and has helped keep the breakouts at bay. Maybe it'll work for some of you ladies. GL!
