April 2015 Moms

Ugh, the morning sickness has started already! Help!

I didn't really have morning sickness with my son but I'm 4 weeks, 5 days and it's rearing it's ugly head this morning.  Someone remind me of the remedies you can try (before taking Rx meds)??  All I can remember is eating something before getting up but it's too late for that this morning!  I'm snacking on crackers but having a hard time actually getting myself to swallow them!
Also, does anyone know the B6/Unisom combo "recipe"?  It was in my last prenatal book from my dr but I couldn't find it this morning!!!

  • Not an official fix but bananas always helped me.

  • I had my first wave of nausea this morning too at 4w3d. Could be a coincidence I guess. We'll see if it continues.

Weird, I think the banana helped.  I'll have to run to the drugstore at lunch to see if I can get some of the other things you guys mentioned.  Thanks!

  • The ginger suckers always helped for me.
  • I sucked on ginger candies and that helped a lot!

You can always try ginger tea, too, if you don't like the suckers or candies. I used to work at a tea shop and we made ginger lemonade which was SO good... steep ginger tea, use about equal parts of lemon juice and sugar and about double the water. There's not really a science to it (obviously not if I can't recall the real measurements), and you have to do it to your taste, but its something that would be worth a try to sip on throughout the day! Hope you feel better!!

  • Sooo, false alarm!  Thank goodness!  It was actually a UTI.  I didn't have the classic symptoms until late yesterday but I saw my primary and got on some good meds and feel much better today.  Thank you guys for your suggestions.  I'll likely need them eventually but glad that the ms didn't actually start this early!
