Will Murphy's Law kick in?

On Monday I was 1cm and 50% effaced. I've been having very sporadic contractions for the past week and a half. My husband just left for an overnight trip to Austin (we are outside of Dallas so 3.5 hours away). He will be back tomorrow afternoon, but I told him knowing my luck I'll go into labor at 3am when I'm here alone! Fingers crossed little guy doesn't make an early appearance! :)

  • It always seems to. Good luck. I know it will for me. DS will be born sometime between the 2 and 9th bc that would be the most inconvient time for a lot of people.

  • My childcare is going out of town from the 9-11th, so you know that's when mine will come. ;)

  • Good luck! I do think babies know when they'd be most inconvenient.
  • I was trying to in incur Murphy's law to induce labor yesterday. I made a double batch of overnight waffle batter and had really good leftovers in the fridge that I wanted to eat so I was hoping that would do it. But no. At least my consolation prize was really good food today
  • Lmfao your attempt @cappleby‌ hope you enjoyed the food!

  • My car is going into the shop today, so DH will be carless 30 minutes from home at work since I'm taking his truck to the doctor, So basically, it would be the most inconvenient time all week! I'll take it, though....so ready to get this kid out!

  • My MIL is stopping by for a couple of hours tomorrow from out of state.  Sounds like the worst thing for a homebirth.  You don't want her to travel 12 hours away home when the baby would be here soon, but I sure can't have her wait here.  Unfortunately, we have no family in the area for her to wait with.
  • Well, I survived the night with just one contraction. At the doctor now for my weekly check-in hoping I've made progress. DH is still in Austin but unless something crazy happens looks like we managed to make it!

  • Yup the food was good. Last time I had good leftovers in the fridge and then my water broke the next morning and I didn't get to eat them, so that was the thought process. At this point I'm pretty sure I'm just going to be pregnant forever. Also I am realizing that it sounds like my life revolves around food right now but that actually is probably an accurate description lol
  • @cappleby‌ I see no problem with that! No alcohol, sex is a mortifying thought, so what else are we supposed to look forward to before baby gets here?

I feel silly complaining that I'll be pregnant forever when I still have nearly 2 weeks to my due date but it definitely feels that way. Especially when my mom reminds me that my younger brother arrived 10 days late.

Murphy's law for me would either be delivering before my mom flies in to watch DD next week or going really late since I'm flying to a wedding in mid-September and need all the recovery time I can get beforehand.

I'm due 8/9 but convinced baby will come this Wed-Fri. My other 2 kids are in a play for their last day of camp on Friday and my son has the lead. Pretty sure this little guy is going to time his arrival to make sure I can't get to the play. My son will never forgive me. Or his baby brother.
