Linea Nigra

Mine popped up two days ago...I love it. For some reason it makes me feel more pregnant, now my blump really feels like a bump! Any one else's starting to show?

For those of you who don't know what a linea nigra is, it's the vertical dark line that run down the center of the belly in darker complexion women. (ETA) "Linea nigra usually appears during the second trimester. It can happen in an individual of any race or ethnicity but tends to be more apparent in women with darker skin tones."

Like the one in the photo below (not my belly).

I never got one with either of my pregnancies. So I don't think I'll get one.

Mine has faded enough since last time that you can't really see it anymore, but I'm sure it will show back up in a few months. The only place it's still actually visible at the moment is below my panty line and that's just a souvenir from DS.

Mine was crooked last time. Made me feel OCD that it wasn't straight up and down.

Mine has started to show too (though very faint). Honestly, it made me quite excited too. DH thought I am crazy to be liking "ugly" marks on my body. Well, if you are not carrying the child yourself you won't understand the fun, baby!

I got a pretty dark one last time, but it wasnt until my third trimester if I remember correctly.

This! I would run my finger down the center of my tummy like I could change it into a perfectly straight line. It didn't pop until about 6 months for me and then just faded away a few months ago.

I had a dark linea negra with DD but didn't get one at all with DS. I'm interested to see what happens this pregnancy.

Mine is pretty faint, you can't see it unless you look for it. But it is kind of crooked, like in the picture. I didn't know they could be crooked, so I wasn't sure it was linea nigra until your post!

I've always seen mine since as far back as I can think into my late teens/early 20s. When i first started dating DH he asked if I had a baby before. Its not dark yet, but its noticeable.

I have yet to get one this time but I had a pretty dark one last time. I am pretty fair because I avoid the sun, but when I do get sun exposure I tan easily. I am half Irish and about half Italian. I guess it's the olive tone from my Italian side that really comes out.

Strangest thing though- I got it on the backs of my legs with my first pregnancy too. Both legs, straight up and down. It was the weirdest thing. The nurse at the OB said she had never seen it before. Anyone on here have something similar? I'd love to know I'm not alone!

I noticed mine this morning. It's super light but it's there. Now i'm hoping the bump shows up!

@kimmykaye are you also as white as a sheet? I've noticed that fairer skinned people are less likely to get one (I'm ghastly pale on the places that never see the sun - the places that do are freckled).

Last time I got it way late in the 3rd tri, but it lasted for a while after baby came.

Mine popped a few days ago too. It's light but I love it! DH thinks it's pretty too. Hope it gets darker.

I've had one since I can remember and my So pointed it out to me saying that it made it seam like I had a baby when we first started dating as well . Its weird because I'm super dupper pale and you can still see its grown darker as well.
