I signed the VBAC consent form, so feeling pretty official at this point.  Provided that this baby isn't breech, we are going for it.  If my BP causes a need for induction, I will have to make a game-time decision but after talking to multiple doctors and midwives from my practice and reading up a little more on induced VBACs, I'm feeling more comfortable with pitocin if it's necessary.

How are you feeling about a VBAC?  Any new updates to share since our last check-in?
I've been feeling really positive lately, although I'm still paranoid that this kid will flip to breech. I know for sure that his head is not stuck in my ribs like DS1's was, but I suppose I'll always find myself something to be anxious about...

How are you feeling about a VBAC?  Any new updates to share since our last check-in? Hope a VBAC happens for my daughters sake.   I want to still be able to lift, etc her.

Still going back and forth.  I signed the VBAC consent form this morning at my appointment.  I think at the next appointment I will schedule my RCS at 40 weeks just in case.  Then just see what my body does naturally.
How are you feeling about a VBAC?  Any new updates to share since our last check-in?
I, too, really hope a VBAC works for my son's sake.  I would hate to not be able to pick him up.  I had a section my first time due to HBP and failed induction.  I found out at my appointment today that your risk for HBP with your second pregnancy actually goes down - so that was encouraging.  I am feeling a bit more confident about getting to experience a VBAC.

I am 100% attempting a VBAC unless something medical changes that.

My induction is put off until 40+3.  It took a bit to convince my doctor to do this, but I'm happy he agreed.  I've gone into labor and birthed all my other spawn at exactly 39+4 so I do not anticipate making it to 40+3.

It's good to hear from everyone!

@arctic_seal, are they not willing to induce you if you get to 41+?

@saraheh007, I didn't realize the HBP risk went down with the second pregnancy, but that is really reassuring.  I also dealt with HBP with my first delivery and am terrified of having the same issue this time.

@happyin14, I don't know if you missed the last check-in since I don't think there was one last week (at least, I didn't post one!).  I figured every other week works for now. :)  As for resources, the only site my midwife recommended was childbirthconnection.org.  I've checked it out and found it honest but reassuring.

@syllessa, that's so great that you were able to get them to move back your induction!  Hopefully you go into labor on your own again first!

    Edit to fix tag.

Undecided. Waiting until an u/s around 36 weeks to check what he is measuring. We will go from there.
If he is measuring similar to DS1 then we will go for the RCS. If not, plan for a VBAC. Things can still change between that and delivery though- high blood pressure again, need an induction, any complications during labor.

How are you feeling about a VBAC?  Any new updates to share since our last check-in?
I'm on the fence. I kind of want the certainty of a RCS and the familiarity. But I wouldn't want to miss out of the chance for a vaginal either. I really don't want an epidural so I am leaning towards the VBAC so I don't need the spinal for the CS... I really just have to wait and see at this point though. I don't want to rush into a decision until I have more info.
I don't think I've ever actually checked in yet.

I'm new to this checkin, didn't see it previously. Hope I can join in :) /How far along are you? 30 weeks /Where are you in your decision making process at this point? Wanting to avoid a RCS at all costs. I've got a vbac friendly doctor and hospital and a midwife who will be my doula. Although, doc said he doesn't want me to go past 41 weeks, I'm gonna try and hold out as long as possible. /How are you feeling about a VBAC? Any new updates to share since our last check-in? I had a medically unnecessary CS with my first so I'm pretty confident I could do a natural birth. Found this video I thought was pretty interesting: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/24/an-unnecessary-cut_n_5618150.html?ncid=fcbklnkushpmg00000037 EDIT: sorry....stupid ipad format

I saw this video on the VBAC board yesterday!  I absolutely loved it - she sums it up so perfectly, saying that it's not about having a VBAC, it's about NOT having a medically unnecessary c-section.

    29 weeks

Where are you in your decision making process at this point?
I have signed my consent form and will be moving forward with my second VBAC. I delivered at 41w5d induced with a Foley Bulb (will not use any other method) so I'm hoping to go into labor on my own this time before then. My midwives will discuss options once I hit 41 weeks if it comes to that. Right now baby is still breech but last time DS#2 did not turn until 34 weeks.

How are you feeling about a VBAC?  Any new updates to share since our last check-in?
I am really confident in my decision especially since this will be my second one. I am just praying that baby turns head down!

  • How far along are you?  27 weeks today!  Third trimester!

Where are you in your decision making process at this point?  I'm definitely doing a VBAC, or at least I'm planning a TOLAC.  My doctor is giving me until 41 weeks along, but I don't think I'm going to schedule the RCS until after I hit 41 weeks (to hopefully give myself another few days), and hoping that my hospital starts using Foley bulbs for induction purposes between now and when I get there so we can use that to induce.  My preference is VBAC > induction > RCS.

How are you feeling about a VBAC?  Any new updates to share since our last check-in?  Still trying to stay positive.  Still visiting a chiropractor to hopefully keep things in check.  Baby is still low and transverse, which isn't helping me feel too positive (my daughter was transverse until 32-34ish weeks, and she was a c/s), but I'm going to start doing some Spinning Babies exercises in hopes of moving this kiddo head down.

I want to VBAC, but I've made peace with the fact I might end up with another c-section. So far all signs point to VBAC.
How are you feeling about a VBAC?  Any new updates to share since our last check-in?
This is my first check-in! I'm feeling really good about it. My doctor has been super supportive and so is my husband. I am really hoping all continues to go well to make it happen.

I didn't realize you already had a successful VBAC, @sunflower555.  That is great!  Any keys to success we should think about? :)

Where are you in your decision making process at this point? Prefer a VBAC but will accept c - section if Dr. decides towards the end that is the best!

How are you feeling about a VBAC?  Any new updates to share since our last check-in? I am nervous as I never went in labor with my first.  Baby boy is estimated to be 3 pounds as of today and my blood clot next to placenta has officially disappeared!!  Yah!!

Where are you in the decision making process at this point? I'm planning on a VBAC in less there is an emergency. I have had two successful VBAC's so going for my third. Both have been such wonderful experiences!! Fast labor and easy recovery!!

Any new updates since last check-in? Still on bedrest. Had appt on Monday and my cervical length was still good. Dr said I'd be on modified bedrest until 32-34weeks, which is hard but totally worth it.

My advice would be to labor at home as long as possible! (Less chance for interventions) I was supposed to head to the hospital as soon as my water broke, but it didn't until I was 8cm dilated and I was already there by then.
